Not two weeks ago this board's consensus was that of everyone in the draft, Kevin Love was the ninth-best choice for the Pacers. The Pacers have the eleventh pick. Yet the prevailing wisdom seems to be that if the ninth-best player is still available at #11, and Indiana picks him, it would be a "nightmare."

Interesting.

I think anyone other than a point guard might force me to eat freshly cut grass.

Yeah I was just thinking that myself mizzou. I dont have any problems with Love, and would welcome him with the 11th pick. Really, besides Beasley, Randolph, Love, and Arthur, I'd just assume steer clear of any big man in this portion of the draft.

I want to change my answer. I won't commit if we take a big man, but if we draft a small forward I think I might run in the middle of the George Washington Bridge.

The only SF @ #11 I'd accept is Gallinari, and that's only because he'd be a steal there.

As for Love, he may be the #9 guy on our draft board, but I don't think he's a good fit with the current roster. Our biggest weaknesses (lack of speed and athleticism) also happen to be his biggest weaknesses.

I'd still probably rather have him than DeAndre Jordan or JaVale McGee though.

Okay, so why did so many people vote for Love at #9 if he is their "nightmare" pick? I agree that he isnt the best fit for our roster, and I'm not overly wild about him, but why did so many people vote for him that high if we would be so distraught if he were our actual pick at #11? Its counterintuitive.

Well, I sure as heck didn't vote for him. I wouldn't have voted for him until at least 14th. From a pure talent stand point he may be worthy of around the 9th - 12th pick but he is the antithesis of what the Pacers need from a player out of this draft. Therefore there is no WAY I want that guy.

A lot a of people actually just uh, vote instead of posting you know. We could have a ton of Love supporters, who just don't speak up.
Rest in Peace, Pacerfan

Yeah I guess only 7 people did vote for him, with three of the moderators among them. I actually thought I did, but at #9 I guess I voted Augustin. Our Big Board isnt exactly a scientific poll, haha.
