I'm baaaaaack. And also, Ty Lawson!

Post#1 » by artichokes » Thu Jun 5, 2008 4:21 am

Hello, hello. Does anyone remember me?

For those that don't, I was THE single most important reason that RealGM forums are what they are. Everyone wanted to talk to this guy.

;)

Anyway, sorry for the abrupt leave last year but the starting SF for my high school tore his ACL, so I got called up. I had to be playing basketball 24/7. And I will still be playing 24/7 because I'm set to start again next year, but I HAD to drop in on my homies.

So the draft is coming up, and, as usual, the Pacers are completely stuck right between a rock and a hard place. Jermaine wants out. Tinsleberries overdosed on sleeping pills and live, AGAIN. Troy Murphy, Travis Weiner, and that dude with the huge nose are white.

So the 11th pick. Just low enough to miss out on all of the amazing prosepcts this year. Blah.

My suggestion - trade down and pick Ty Lawson. We need a PG, obviously, and all signs point to us getting the little fellow from Texas. Why not get Ty Lawson, who is almost the same player except faster?

Also, if we have a second rounder, Gary Forbes, anyone? Eh?

Feel free to comment or to just say hi because I was your favorite person ever a year ago.

I don't want to trade down and take Lawson, but I would love to trade for a later pick and take Lawson. I'd much rather have Lawson at 20+ than Augustin at 11.

The Pacers won't have to trade down and take Lawson, he'll be valued between picks 11-14.

How nuts am I?

Well let's put it out there like this....what if Rose, Mayo, Bayless, Westbrook, and Augustin were gone in the first 8 picks?

Guess what? Lawson just went from top 20 prospect to lower lottery prospect. And the PG's given the market can and will disappear faster then you can snap a finger. That's why any team interested in a top tier PG is being sought after with a heavy price.

Welcome back to yourself, then. ;)

By the way, do you still consider Ike Diogu as a part of the Pacers' future? (The sig picture.)

That would be great, too, if we could find a reasonable trading partner. Then we could take a project like DeAndre Jordan or someone like that.

How tall/fast/skilled are you, and what year do you become draft-eligible?

Hello everyone, it's good to hear from you lot again. I do plan on making an effort to log on at least once a day, so as to not completely disappear again.

 I don't think the NBA has much use for a 6'4'' 160 pound SF.
