REAL NJ/MIL Trade

Post#1 » by bjschacht » Thu Jun 26, 2008 7:26 pm

Check this out! Richard Jefferson to the Bucks for Yi and Bobby Simmons!

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/b ... index.html

"The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed in principle to trade Yi Jianlian to the New Jersey Nets for Richard Jefferson, two league sources told SI.com.

The Bucks also are sending Bobby Simmons to the Nets. He has $20.5 million left on a contract that expires in the summer of 2010, when LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh could become free agents." -SI.com

This trade screwed the Pacers over in a number of ways. Firstly, it puts Richard Jefferson on a division rival without them really losing much, secondly it takes away any chance of Bayless falling to us - just about anyway, unless Kevin Love makes it to the 8th pick.

One helluva great deal for Milwaukee. I never thought Yi would turn out to much, and they moved Simmons' horrible contract in the deal as well. That's a pretty solid deal for them, and they can play Villanueva now without having to worry about starting an international incident if Yi didn't get his 20-25 minutes.

Who knows what position the Bucks will be looking at now in the draft, though. Methinks Brook Lopez could be their guy.

Well said Dark, I can't imagine them doing anything else with that pick. A Williams/Redd back court makes a Ford/Dunleavy back court look like a good defensive combo.
