IND/LAL

Post#1 » by IndyDave02 » Fri Jul 4, 2008 8:55 pm

Could the Lakers still be interested in moving Odom this year. He is in the last year of his contract so if it doesn't work, we would have a lot more cap room. Here is my suggestion:

OUTGOING:

TINSLEY
DUNLEAVY

INCOMING:

ODOM
KARL

The Lakers would have a cast around Kobe and a line up that would look like this:

C- Gasol
PF- Bynum
SF- Dunleavy
SG- Kobe
PG- Tinsley

The Pacers could have Odom as a starting PF:

C- Murphy/Nesterovich/Hibbert
PF- Odom/Foster/Baston
SF- Granger/Williams/Graham
SG- Rush/ Daniels/Karl
PG- TJ Ford/Jack/Denier

I know some will blast losing Dunleavy but the Lakers aren't giving Odom (and his expiring contract) away for nothing. Rush would be able to develop sooner or we move Williams/Daniels into the starting lineup. More importantly, this is a move for next year when Odom and Nesterovich's salary drops off.

Thoughts?

I don't think it's totally unrealistic. With Gasol and a healthy Bynum, I do think Dunleavy is a better fit for the Lakers than Odom. Still, the Lakers have a good shooter and defender in Fisher locked up long-term, and have Farmar to groom as his eventual replacement, so I doubt they'd have much interest in adding Tinsley's salary.

Odom + Walton for Dunleavy + Quis is probably more realistic.

No way, Odom didn't seem at al happy at the prospect of being a Pacer when the JO rumors were going on. No point in having guys here who dont wanna be part of the team.

Dunleavy isn't the type of SF that they are looking for. They want a SF that can defend. Also...it's been mentioned before that Tinsley is not a good fit for the Triangle Offense.

I'll take that deal, and a side of herpes.
