Trade with NY?
What about this:
Incoming Players
Renaldo Balkman
6-7 SF from South Carolina
No games yet played in 2007/08
David Lee
6-9 PF from Florida
No games yet played in 2007/08
Malik Rose
6-7 PF from Drexel
No games yet played in 2007/08
Outgoing Players
Maceo Baston
6-9 SF from Michigan
No games yet played in 2007/08
Mike Dunleavy
6-8 SF / PF from Duke
No games yet played in 2007/08
We get Lee,Balkman, and Rose (expiring). NY throws in a first round pick too.
Robinson
Crawford
Dunleavy
Randolph
Curry
Ford
Rush
Granger
Lee
Hibbert
Next year with their first round pick get a PF and then pick best available from there on out. your thoughts?
NY sends:
Lee
Rose
Balkman
1st round pick
IND sends:
Dunleavy
Baston
This can't happen intil September 9 since Baston was just traded. Just a thought though.

No way. Next years draft is weak, and the first rounder isn't that appealing. I don't like it at all.

I would consider it, that knicks first round pick could be a very high ottery pick, if could land us Blake Griffin. David Lee is also a very solid PF that would fit in perfectly beside Hibbert/Foster.

You can not trade Maceo in combination with another player for three months, IIRC.

I would want no part of David Lee. I find him to be overrated and I want nothing to do with him. Same with every other Knick outside of JC.

Throw Crawford onto that list and I agree with 23artest23.

Re: Trade with NY?
Dunleavy and Baston??? man we should prolly get that and 2 more first round picks lol
Why would NY give up Lee (probably their best value player right now), a first round pick and a solid young player in balkman for pretty much a solid 6th man and a throw in...

Re: Trade with NY?
Dunleavy's not a 6th man and your opinion of Balkman and Lee is a bit too high. I'm not saying the Knicks would do it, but assuming the pick was lottery protected there's no way the Pacers would do it, either.

The knicks have no picks in 2009.
Dunleavy will not be moved at all, so there is little point to this deal.

Did you see him play for us this past year? This is not the Dunleavy of GS, where they were evidently stupid in how they treated him and ended up effing him up while he was there.
The way he played for us this past year? "Sixth man" my arse...he a solid or better than solid NBA starter.

Re: Trade with NY?
Doesnt surprise me, knick fans seem to think they can get Carmelo for David Lee and Lebron for Jamal Crawford
The trade is unlikely but its not nearly as far fetched as "method" suggests.

Re: Trade with NY?
From previous experiences, NY fans tend to have an over inflated value of their players. My opinion on that is if the players were that good and valuable, why do they end up stuck with them? That says it all for me but hey, everybody has the right to an opinion

Haha they do the same with their team, they think they have a contender every year yet they dont make the playoffs. personnally I dont think they have recouvered since what Reggie did to them, in a sad way I feel sorry for them.

Re: Trade with NY?
David Lee is a very solid player. He's almost Jeff Foster at the PF spot. He's a hard nosed rebounder, ok to good defender, but he can actually score a bit.
However, I think NY fans are going to be surprised at what his value actually is. He's now known for telling teams interested in acquiring him that he won't re-sign with them, and that he wants to reach unrestricted free agency. Add in that he's in the last year of his deal and his agent has been floating snippets in the media that Lee should deserve a maximum contract. His value is going to drop as his signability drops, and even once he does sign somewhere for a more expensive contract. Unless he signs for a Jeff Foster or Anderson Varejao signed contract, he's going to have a much lower value around the league.
Balkman is a pretty average SF right now and isn't too awfully special.
