Tinsley is still a top 10 point guard in this league if you remove the injuries. It's shocking to me that a team like Cleveland wouldn't try to get a deal done and hope that the injury bug will go away.

It's a successful move for a lot of teams, and if you gave up West to do it, you're not losing anything. You're improving.

I mean. I can understand you thinking it's a bad deal. I'm not questioning your answer, I guess I'm just shocked. If I were Cleveland, I would find a deal to make work on even the chance of 60 games + playoffs with Tinsley, which isn't a long bet.

You cannot "remove the injuries". Tinsley has only played more than 55 games in 3 of his 7 NBA seasons. He couldn't stay healthy when he was younger, now he's over 30 years old.

How can you say the chances of him playing 60 games is not a long shot? This guy has made a career out of collecting paychecks without working.

Of course the Cavs should be interested in him, but only in a low risk scenario.

Well for one if "quis" is marquis daniels, sorry but i would take gibson over him anyday. And you gotta be crazy to think the cavs would do west for tinsley. Its funny how some even seem offended that cavs fans wouldnt agree to this when you guys are trying so bad to get rid of this guy. Then you try to sell how good tinsley is lol...okay??

Tinsley will most likely get bought out, so if they cavs even had interest which we havent heard anything on our part. They could just wait until then and get him for dirt cheap...

Ok people I'm gonna be the voice of reason here, Ben Wallace? This guys career has gone down faster than a $20 truck stop hooker. I would never trade JT and Daniels for him, for one he stinks, and 2 remember a little incident in 2004 in Detroit? What do you think the fans would do if Wallace trotted out on the floor in a Pacers uniform? Riot! Now a few yrs back he was a good player, but he might just be the most overpaid player in the NBA. No way not if you paid me, not if you took JT and gave me 3 #1 picks would i take Wallace.

I'm opposed to buyouts in general but I'll buyout JT at 100% before I take wallace.

just forget it cavs fans never mind we don't want west or anyone else keep your team the way it is, seriously, $94 million to finish 3rd in the title chase is your problemo! look $23 million in luxury tax who cares you got lebron james.

What if he takes the Qualifying offer from the nets $2.76 million? if we s&t with the nets for kristic at $4 million per he counts only $2 million in the trade so $2 + KVH $3.8 is only $5.8 plus $100k if we send Daniels and Williams that's $8.5 million and that doesn't work either way so we have to add salary for the nets or make Kristics new contract a lot higher like $6 million($6 yr 1, $5.5 yr 2, $5 yr 3) counting $3 millon for the trade. I think that works but is that enough for the nets. We save $2.5 million after cutting KVH.

Don't forget the 125% rule. Whatever salary a team sends out, they can take back up to 125% in incoming salary +$100 grand. Thus, if NJ trades out Krstic and KVH and KVH only gets $4 million in a deal, then yes, they'd be sending out $5.8 million, but could take back up to $7.35 million, not $5.9.

However, I'm pretty sure Mo Ager and his $1 million salary could be pretty easily thrown into a deal like this. He's pretty much trade filler at this point. That would make the deal work with Krstic getting about $5 million in salary his 1st year.

Krstic ($2.5 million outgoing) + KVH ($3.79 million) + Ager ($1 million) = $7.29 * 125% = $9.1125 million + $100 grand = $9.2125 million maximum incoming.

We could get by with giving him about $4.5 million in the first year and it would work. At this point though, I'm not sure we'd have to give up Shawne Williams to get Krstic. If we took Hassell as the filler instead of KVH, it would probably be done.

Yeah Scoot i went back and posted another senario my idea was to give kristic one of those declining contracts starting at $6 million so he hits for $3 million in the trade, is that right? With KVH at $3.8 making it $6.8 in and about $8.3, then cut KVH saving $3.8. Correct that for me if it's not right. We'd be minus $2.3 million on the cap. I'd take Ager if they want to toss him in. Would the nets do that or would it take an additonal draft pick to get them on board and to give up Van Horn? And i'd be willing to give them Williams and a 2nd or swap of #1's if it meant getting KVH and not Hassell, i want that non gauranteed contract. :D

it's increasing likely that Tins will be here into the winter. I think we'll sit him but he'll be here. however, as the trading deadline approaches, he's going to look a lot better. with half the season gone, he no longer has to hold up for 82 games. plus the teams that thought they were in contention but turn out to be not quite there can more easily sell the deal to their fans as being worth the risk.
