Nov 1 Boston @ Pacers
I read on another forum, a poster say he was invited to a season ticket member party (expensive season tickets) at Jim Morris' house. Larry Bird was on hand as well as several other Pacers staff members. The poster said (and confirmed by other posters who attendant) that the Pacers will open the season November 1st at Conseco Fieldhouse against the NBA Champions Boston Celtics. Tough way to start but maybe we get national tv?
Speaking of the schedule, anyone know when the NBA releases it's schedule?

No one wants to start off 0-1 so hopefully we can bring it. They seem to struggle against athletic wings and a fast paced offense(Atlanta). Hopefully Ford wants to show off in his first game haha.

Very tough way to start things out. While this will be our first game I am going to say it will not be Bostons. I expect to have a tough game here, hopefully the Pacers can prove me wrong. I also hope I will see this game, where I am moving in South Carolina I am not sure that I can get league pass. Hopefully I can swing it though.

Whoa! what a start!
But i believe in this team, and i won't be surprised if Boston opens the season with a loss.
We have a deeper bench than the Celtics. Plus, they're lacking a decent back-up at the sf spot now that Posey's gone. And yes, Indiana's more athletic than Boston.
TJ Ford vs. Rajon Rondo. whew.

Ahahahahhahahahahahah. Wow, good show. I haven't seen it in ages lol.
But I actually agree with ya'll. I really think we can win this. Boston did nothing but get a year older - for an already old team, and they didn't improve really, plus lost a huge part to their team. We have 7 new players who all want to prove what they can offer us in the first game, Granger is going to want to prove he can lead the team against the best, and we are actually more athletic than them. I honestly believe we could beat them. The thing is, most NBA Champs have their first game televised, and no one wants to lose that game, so I'm sure they are going to bring it to. I still think we will surprise them though.

Re: Nov 1 Boston @ Pacers
I'd imagine that while this would be our 1st game, that this wouldn't be the Celtics 1st game as they would likely be put in more of a marquee "NBA Season Opener" than with us. We'll probably not get national tv for this, but I hope we do.
I'll be watching this next season from Cleveland. My only hope for the 1st year is national TV (and no, my fiancee and I can't afford NBA League Pass. We have med school and a wedding to pay for.)

Re: Nov 1 Boston @ Pacers
I got the reception site, catering, cake, photography, and flowers for free. However, that ain't all to a wedding.
Even a free wedding isn't completely free. Plus, at the end of the year, we're going to have to pay taxes on the cash value of the prizes we won. Basically, we're getting a $20,000 for around $13,000 when all is said and done. I'll take it for sure, but we have more we have to pay for.

Re: Nov 1 Boston @ Pacers
hopefully this wil be nationally covered. Pacers normally start the season off well, so who knows how we'll start off. We can give Boston a run for their money. Im surprised that Boston isnt playing on Oct 31 (season opener), unless they already have a back to back

I'd be surprised if Indiana gets more than one game on national TV this year. Small market, no big stars, lousy attendance last year...cant see them on national TV much.

We had, what, two appearances last year?
I'd go for 3 this time around. One of them will be NBATV.

there is hardly no national TV other than the NBA network until after football season.

ABC usually starts their NBA games during Christmas time.
