Please bring this back to the subject at hand.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

Bucky O'Hare wrote:I voted for Jack. I just don't think he's as good as a lot of Pacer fans are expecting him to be. He's a decent scorer, but his point guard skills leave a lot to be desired, and he's not quite the shut-down defender he's being made out to be. Solid back-up, but I've seen quite a few posters suggest that he can compete for the starting point guard job, which I find ridiculous.

Yeah, no way will he competing for the starting PG job. Jim O'Brien is going to use him as a utility player. He made that very clear during the introduction of the new players. That's why he interrupted one of the questions about Jack as a PG and said that he wanted "to make it very clear that Jack is going to be used at the 2 a lot as well." O'Brien likes Diener a lot, so I wouldn't be surprised to still see Diener get a lot of minutes at the point.

But back to Jack, I'm definitely a fan, and I can't wait to see what he can bring to our team.

I don't expect Jack to challenge for any kind of starting role either. I have not seem him play as much as the Pacers/Lakers/Clippers but from what I have seen, he is a career backup and a team that started him would have to be extremely weak at PG. On Diener though, I will be extremely disappointed if Jack cannot play well enough to keep Travis relatively out of the rotation. I don't want to bring up Bayless but that will really disappoint me if Jack ends up as expensive garbage making the deal to look more like Bayless+Diogu for Rush.

I decided to cast my vote to Brandon Rush. From some opinions on here to talk around campus, people are expecting a bit out of Rush and I could see him not performing. I pray that is not the case but I could see it. As mizzou mentioned, he may have a time of NBA adaption and that would not surprise me a bit. My other option was T.J. but I expect him to bring such a change of pace and style to the PG position that he will likely have solid performances in many eyes regardless of the numbers.

chump change??? not expecting much our of Jack, are you. Pacers had Rush rated higher than Bayless and I think that was reasonable no matter what Bayless does for Portland. we were looking to pair someone with TJ. they were looking to pair someone with Roy. big difference. Roy can play the one and defend the two making Bayless who is more of a two that can defend the one a good match. who defends a big guard if you have Ford and Bayless together?

I voted other on this one. not sure why as I don't really have many expectations for any of the other guys.

How is Shawne Williams not on your list? He has a lot of potential but kills you guys on a regular basis.

To be disappointed you have to anticipate big things in the first place.

Danny Granger, in that he's going to play well, and his numbers are going to increase, but I don't think he's ready to take the leadership mantle come time.
