Bonzi

Post#1 » by rich31 » Wed Aug 6, 2008 11:27 pm

Should Indy look at signing BONZI ??? could be got very cheap, and we all know he would help the team out more than others currently on the team, so if they can cut graham or someone and sign bonzi.

Indy has no post players, you can't run and gun everyplay, they are going to need a post up option for when the ball is stopped in transition.

Bonzi is a solid rebounder and post player, and can play the 4 spot in an uptempo team.

Major problem that i can see is bonzi's reputation, as not the greatest solid citizen.

He won't accept coming cheap, he has serious attitude problems, and he has a hard time fitting in.

Add in that we already have 16 guaranteed contracts, and would need to cut 2 guys to sign him, and that we already have Dunleavy, Granger, Rush, Daniels, and Graham at the swing positions with Jack occasionally stepping up to the 2 to play with Ford or Diener, and you realize we have absolutely no space for a player like Bonzi Wells.

I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

If he wasn't a headcase, I'd consider it. I like the low-post ability he has against perimeter players, but hate the baggage.

I would be interested in a 1 or 2 year deal IF we did not have 16 guys under contract and the price was right. Has he shown any continued attitude/off court issues in the last few years? I could very well be wrong but I do not believe he has. In reality though, I don't see Bonzi as an option.

I'm guessing that he's gonna sign with the Lakers.

Even if there's a roster space and big bucks available, i doubt Larry will ever do that.

We could have gotten him cheap the summer he signed with Houston and management said they were not interested in him. He has done nothing since to change their opinion.

Right now the mission statement in the front office is to clean house. Doesn't matter how cheap garbage is, we still don't buy it.
