This is going to be the seventh in our series of projections and discussions about all of our players this year. Essentially, we'll go through all 15 Pacers (I'm excluding Droopy) and talk about our expectations. Each poster will cut and paste form below and fill it out, adding their reasoning at the bottom. The reasoning is the most important, as it will help the conversation.
The first five guys will go up today, and they will be the fringe players. Then will come the rotational players, then we'll get to our key players. If you're looking to do a little research on the guys, I'd suggest BBR as the best statistical site.
So, here we start with:
Rasho Nesterovic

Reasoning/Synopsis: Describe why you think this player will provide these numbers. What will his role be? What's his best-case? What's his worst-case?
Lets get started.

I don't really have any expectations for Rasho as far as personal stats go. Without knowing much about him firsthand, my take from what I've been able to gather from others is that he's a smart veteran player who can shoot the ball fairly well, but is not terribly strong or aggressive. I see him and Foster splitting most of the minutes at center this season. Probably Rasho plays just one season for us, unless he is REALLY impressive...basically, he's an insurance policy to give Hibbert a bit of time to develop and adjust to the NBA.

could surprise. 10 or 12 points, 6 or 8 boards. I think he'll keep Hibbert on the bench. a possible fantasy sleeper in a salary cap league.

It really depends on what direction the Pacers want to go into. Check his stats for the last 2 months of the season, the guy was just playing unbeliveable and something like 12 and 9 wouldnt be far-fetched. I wish the Raptors used him more. Do they want to develop the young guy in Roy Hibbert, or win now with Rasho? I don't know, but Rasho will be a great mentor to Roy Hibbert. They might be on the court together, who knows.

Reasoning: Rasho had a streak of really good games last year. Again, I picked him up in my fantasy league so i'm kinda thinking that Rasho have the potential to be dominant in adequate playing time. And by how the roster stands, Rasho's our best center as of now and most likely to be the starter.
He's more of an offensive center so i'm kinda thinking that Obie will take advantage of it, and let the old reliable Jeff Foster take care of the defensive business.

Rasho will be in and out of the starting lineup, and will see half of the minutes at the 5 this season, sharing them primarily with Roy Hibbert and Jeff Foster, with T-Murda occasionally getting a taste. He should be a solid player, but we'll hope that his minutes decline as the end of the season approaches to reflect the emergence of Rookie Roy Hibbert.
