Brandon Rush a Scout's take

Thoughts from Procopio: “Brandon Rush is one of the top wing players in the draft. No one plays off the ball better than him. He brings a lot of things to the table, starting with his very good size, which allow him to play either the 2 or the 3. He is long, athletic, and has a great basketball IQ. He can already make shots from deep. You can run him off pick and roll plays, pin downs, and he’s great in transition.

He reminds me of Caron Butler. He has the ability to handle the ball, spot-up and make deep shots, and defend. He can do so much. The sky is the limit for him.

Attack Athletics is Tim Grover's (Jordan's trainer, among many others) he runs a very competitive camp with a lot of NBA players. The scouts take is during workouts in front of many NBA personel. It's nice to look forward to his potential as being "one of the top wing players in the draft." There is a similar take on Roy Hibbert (under Hibbert's profile). This is the site that gave the Pacers the highest "win draft" score of the draft. It's an opinon, but there's another article where they break down this "win score" and they were pretty on point for the future production of last year's draft.

He and Granger could easily become one of the best SG/SF defensive duos in the league.

Exactly. He can take some of the scoring load off of Danny, and they both play well off the ball

The Caron Butler comparison is nice, but in my opinion, Brandon's more of an Eddie Jones (?).

I think of Eddie Jones, or Rip Hamilton more than Butler. Butler seems much more stocky and power built. Rush is more like Reggie Miller on steroids, lol

My take as Missouri fan who rooted (unsucessfully) against him and his Satan U. teammates for the last three seasons:

He's got the outside shot. He's a good defender. He's got a nice combination of athleticism and size. He seems like a pretty smart player.

But he drifts during games.

And he has a lot of work to do to round out his offensive game.

No doubt he has the talent to be a very good NBA player. I just hope he has the work ethic/character/power of concentration to be a good NBA player.

We'll know for sure after the next three seasons or so.

mizzoupacers,

Ever catch a game where Rush dominated, if so what was he like?
