2 articles of interest...
First is one that the Heat were starting negotiations with Memphis regarding one of their PG's, either Lowry or Crittendon, sighting absolutely no interest in acquiring Tinsley's contract.
http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/colum ... 45426.html
However I found the following written just five days prior....
http://www.screamingsports.com/en/artic ... aspx?a=268
4 things that are guaranteed according to the writer to happen before the 2008-2009 season started, #3 is Tinsley will be traded to the heat. Sighting Pat Riley is interested and his contract and behavior isn't as a concern as is his ability to shoot. Mentions Wade's and Marion's horrendous outside shooting a concern.
Thoughts???

Re: What's real and what's fiction....
Well I just said this in the trade thread, the only way Miami would even consider taking on jt is if we did Rasho and JT for Banks and Blount. I doubt they would but it could be we are waiting on Rasho to get off his trade restriction, Sept. 9th I think.
I wouldn't put much stock in that 2nd link, anyone really think the Suns will take Zach willingly?

The second article has almost no credibility. It's barely more than speculation and appears to offer no indication of inside, or even significant, information. Beyond that, I don't see the writer making any guarantees. I only see "rumored" deals and "potential" landing spots.
A deal with Miami may end up happening, but there's nothing about this article that is even remotely indicative that it's on the horizon.

I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

I would take the 2nd article from http://www.screamingsports.com/en/articles/featured.aspx?a=268 with a grain of salt as it is written for a NBA Fantasy Basketball webpage and is based off of pure speculation.
Before any of us jumps to any conclusions on the liklihood of the Pacers moving Tinsley to the Heat......the article also suggest that the Suns could take on Randolph AND Eddy Curry since neither of them fit in D'Antoni's offense.....which I find it hard to believe given the sheer amount of $$$/Contracts that the Suns would have to move/absorb in order to acquire them.
As for the specific part of the article relating to Tinsley, you have to be a lttle more clear when citing an article.
Although the writer does indicate that Riley has been interested in Tinsley, the writer doesn't mention anything regarding Tinsley and his contract nor behavior in the Article ( which are key concerns coming from the Heat ).
On top of that there are no "guarantees" here cited by the Writer....but speculation and potential rumors on his part.
One more thing, the article is a week old....it suggests a JR Smith to Cavs deal for Joe Smith ( who is now with the Sonics ) and that the Bulls should resign Ben Gordon.

The Pacers should trade much maligned PG Jamal Tinsley to the Heat. The Heat truly believe that Mario Chalmers is their PG of the future. However, they are so thin at the position after losing Jason Williams to the Clippers earlier this month. It's been long rumored that Pat Riley covets Tinsley because of his passing ability and would fit in well with what the Heat are looking to do. Unfortunately for the Heat, Tinsley is one of the streakiest shooters in the NBA; pair him up with Wade and Marion on the wings, and you're looking at the worst shooting back court in the NBA. Keep an eye on Tinsley as we get closer to the season. He is an underrated assist-man and could be a nice late round steal provided he lands in the right spot. He's going to be moved-the question remains, where? The Heat are as likely as spot as any.

Only problem with a Memphis-Miami deal is the fact that Memphis tried to trade up 3 spots on draft night and Riley wanted Gay and Conley in addition to the #5.
Now does Miami honestly believe that Memphis is simply going to give up Lowry or Conley without taking on something they may not want to take on. The didn't have valuable pieces to aquire Ron Artest of all people.

I think Miami believes that Memphis will recognize that Kyle Lowry is not nearly as valuable as the #2 pick in the draft (Michael Beasley), and that it would be much easier to negotiate a deal for a mid-level PG prospect like Lowry than it would be to negotiate for one of the top prospects at the SF/PF position in a few years in Michael Beasley.
