Andre Owens

Post#1 » by Vojvoda » Wed Sep 10, 2008 10:19 pm

Hi guys! I have a question for you. Today my team, Red Star Belgrade, signed Andre, so can you tell me something about him? What is his strength, and what are his weaknesses? How is his defence, vision, ball handling, driving to basket, shooting, etc...

Thanks!

Hard worker, decent defender, good penetrator, but doesn't always finish well. Spotty shooter. He's a good guy, but was a little overmatched in the NBA. I'm not sure how your league compares, but I think he could be a good contributor.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

Thank you very much. That's what we need, hard worker, good defender and penetrator. It will be easier for him to finish because big guys in Europe are not as athletic as they are in NBA.

Andre's biggest strength is definitely his defense. I remember just before the start of last season, Bird said he was probably the teams best or 2nd best perimeter defender. He is quick and does a good job penetrating like count55 said but it seemed like every time he would penetrate he either couldn't finish or would pass the ball back out when all he needed to do was take it up and get the foul. It was cool seeing him play in the NBA since I went to high school with him (he graduated 3 years ahead of me), but he was definitely over-matched on most nights he took the floor.
Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, it's bobsled time!
