Rasho's here, happy and ready to contribute
Sep 22, 2008

When I first laid eyes on Rasho Nesterovic in the Pacers locker room Monday morning, I was half expecting him to be wearing round black glasses, a red-and-white striped sweater and a wool hat. The look would be appropriate for the guy that spent the better part of the summer playing the lead role in our little game of Where's Rasho?

That he was the only one of the seven players acquired on the trades completed on draft night and announced in early July not to appear in Indianapolis until this week led some to speculate he was making some kind of statement that he wasn't happy.

Sounds like he is just one of those players that doesn't care where he's at. As long as he is playing basketball. Good to hear he's finally here though.

Nice,

Yeah I didnt worry too much, you know after all the sht we have been through, you know Bird checked him out in detail. The last thing we want is a disgruntled employee.

man Greenway you could hear a pin drop on this board now, lol

If he was unhappy, we'd just buy him out. We've got 16 players and could save a lot of money this year by giving him some really small number. I seriously doubt a player of his calibre is unhappy making $8 million this year, though, regardless of where he's doing it.

we're better of packaging him with Tinsley and Williams for another player. Anyone would want his expiring $8 + million

^^
Most teams would want the space, and we are one of them, i'd like to avoid combining Rasho with Tinsley unless there's a PF answer for us involved.

Rasho being disgruntled is the least of your worries. He's one of the classiest players in the NBA.

Packaging him with Tinsley brings back more salary. Nobody's giving us anything but bad contracts for Tinsley, so we're better off buying him out if they're demanding an expiring contract to go along. I wouldn't mind sending Daniels along to the Warriors in a trade for Harrington as was suggested earlier, but that leaves the Warriors having to add a player they don't want to add or us adding a third player in order to bring the number up enough that we can take on a bad contract.

You guys seem pretty stacked with bodies at the five, and since Rasho can't play the 4 worth a lick it could be possible that you guys just wave goodbye and are happy to have the eight million fall off the books at seasons end.
