I've been reading all the Denver scenarios posted all around. I here a lot of people make the comment about we just traded JO's big contract and we aren't going to take on another large contract. Lets break this down.

Re: KMart/JO Comparisons
The 1st would be nice, but K-Mart isn't the player for us right now. Still, getting that for all three problem pieces would be very nice for us. I would take Tinsley over K-mart, and a refund in the draft for Shawne, but the Nuggets would be very hesitant, especially with their draft picks, as they are looking to complement Melo.

Re: KMart/JO Comparisons
Another notable compaison is:
KMart played 71 games last season and started in all 71. Year before that he played in 2 games and started in both of those also.
JO played 42 games and started in 34 games, and the season before played 69 games and started in all them.
Overall we dont need another high paid PF that is often injured. We've experieced this with JO and we shuldnt go through this again

Re: KMart/JO Comparisons
I don't think Shawne is attracted to the Nuggets, since they have Anthony, Kleiza, and Balkman. Also, they are now lack of quality big players after they traded Camby. If they want to trade Martin with us, they posssibly would want Tinsley and Rasho.
And for the Pacers, I don't think we need Martin now because his contract is ugly. There are only to things from Denver I think that the Pacers would like to recieve: Future draft picks and Trade Exception. However, it doesn't seem possible.

Re: KMart/JO Comparisons
some over on the dnver board suggested
Martin + Balkman
------------------------
Tinsley, Shawne, Daniels
I think I would do that. I know balkman is probably never going to be a starter. However he has that Foster hard work mentality, and isnt going to compain or demand starter minutes.

Re: KMart/JO Comparisons
JO will suddenly be healthy this season, which will confirm my suspicion that he was in mental anguish here. I always supported trading JO when it was apparant too me ( Since Artest), that he wanted nobody else to step on his toes. He wanted to be THE MAN after Reggie left, but his failed leadership caused massive fractures in the cohesiveness of that championship caliber squad. JO is a huge piece to the puzzle ( when playing), but he is not the man.
K-Mart is not and never will be any type of leader, he is a sheep.

Re: KMart/JO Comparisons
K-Mart certainly has the fire to be a leader (nets spurs when he said he would shut down duncan), and I do agree that K-Mart will be a good PF for a while for us, so that we can semi-contend while rebuilidng.
However, there is a very small possibilty that we will get a 1st. The 2nd deal is perfectly fine.

Re: KMart/JO Comparisons
Wouldn't buying out Tinsley's contract be more ideal than taking on K-Mart's huge deal? By trading away Daniels in the deal, you lose an 8 million $ expiring (or something along those lines) and while you get rid of a couple bad apples, you'd probably be better off just buying Tinsley out or trading him for a comparable contract.

We are not buying out JT, Larry Bird has made it clear that its not even an option.

I'd only really be willing to take on K-Mart's deal if it's Tinsley and Murphy we're trading away.

...and his health checked out. I'm with you, I would only want a K-Mart deal if it rids of us Tinsley and Murphy. Not that I dont like Troy, but he is vastly overpaid and we need an inside presence.
