Carlos Boozer
He will be a free agent this year since he is opting out of his contract. What if we would give him a long term contract? any chance? Would we have money? Rasho, Daniels, Jack, Baston... Can we do it?

Re: Carlos Boozer
I nearly made a simliar thread the other day.
I think Boozer would fit in nicely in Indy, but I think it's highly likely he will be with the Jazz next season. He's only testing the market so the Jazz will have to pay a lot more to keep him.

We have no capspace or trading assets that Utah would want.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

And we aren't the most desirable destination either.

came across an interesting article over at ESPN regarding this. there could be an opportunity for us to land the versatile AK-47 so the Jazz can keep Boozer.
read on: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3777170
could be a long shot, or even wishful thinking, but ran it through Trade Checker and came up with a successful transaction:
TRADE ID # 4881115
IND Incoming / UTA Outgoing
Andrei Kirilenko
UTA Incoming / IND Outgoing
Marquis Daniels
Jamaal Tinsley
simple rationale is that for IND, we get a versatile guy that, i feel, can fit into Obie's system, complement Danny Granger very well, and ups the ante on our D. i mean if early in the season we were pushing for someone like Haslem, then why not AK?
next point is that we get to move Tins. think he'll probably be the best sub Deron will ever have.
we do lose 'Quis, but getting AK and the possible return of Mike Dun should be more than enough to compensate.
for UTA, if AK is as available as the report seems to hint, they'll have cap re-up Boozer. if they ask for (a) pick/s to go with, then we'll probably have to relent.
if bidding for Booze or trading for AK won't work, hey, we can always offer something to Millsap.
the Jazz are really high on him right now, but how i see their situation plays out is that something's gotta give. one of these guys will be out of UTA.
just sharin' thoughts.

Exactly, i think he will have his choice of a few borderline contender teams. Can't see him passing up the chance at a chip to come here atm.

I'm fairly certain Utah would be one of the "off-limit" destinations for Tins. They are very cautious about questionable characters. They won't put up with him for 5 minutes, let alone 2.5 seasons.

^^ Agreed. No way does Jerry Sloan take Tinsley in. They pride themselves in taking in model citizens and the crowd only respects players with class.
