Dunleavy

Post#1 » by RealSuperfan » Tue Jan 27, 2009 8:44 pm

Raptors fan here.

What's going on with Dunleavy? Hows he looked since returning from the injury? He had a great season last year, and his numbers this year don't mirror last years, but is it just because he's a step slow? Is he getting the same touches and playing time as last year, or are players like Daniels cutting into his time?

What do you guys expect out of him for the remainder of the year?

He's still looking for his shot so far, and is still recovering. He's getting plenty of touches, his shot has just been off so far. He'll come around soon enough.

He looks tentative to me. I don't see the confidence he had last season.

i think think it's rust. I mean, last year, he had a whole training camp under his belt and he was a the big shot. He was our go-to guy. Not only he misses training camp, but he misses half the season, returns, and doesn't even have TJ Ford, plays with Jack, and Granger is the star now, now Ford returns and he has to adjust again. He hasn't had over 15 shots in a game yet this season, last season he was getting 18-20 on a pretty consistent basis, even though his overall average is pretty the same. Like Dunleavy17 said, he will come around eventually.

It has to be rust at this point. Not only did he miss so much time, but he is trying to work into a team that was gelled together for nearly half a season. Daniels has been injured recently, so he's really not cutting into his time...so it's hard to tell...especially with Granger out tonight.

I'm not going to look it up, because I'm lazy, but I'd imagine that Daniels and Dunleavy have only played a couple of games actually together.

He's probably a tend rusty (Dunleavy), but that should be expected considering all the time he missed. He's 3-for-7 with 22 minutes through three quarters of tonight's game against the Bucks, but he has attempted 10 free throws, so he isn't being hesitant...he's attacking the basket.
