Jermaine O'Neal on the Move Again

Post#1 » by kdawg531 » Fri Feb 13, 2009 6:23 pm

He was traded, along with Jamario Moon, to the Heat for Marion and Banks.

I think the Raptors just made a great move.

I think it's only a good move for Toronto if they are able to re-sign Marion. Otherwise, they are just paying out on Banks' contract and getting nothing in return.

For some reason, I really like Banks.

Not to mention Marion is an upgrade for the injury prone O'Neal. Just my thoughts.

Bosh and JO were just a bad fit. JO should be in a better system in Miami and it is clear who the superstar is there. I really like Moon on the Heat.

For the Raptors, they unload an expensive player that just did not fit. Still not a fan of Banks contract, but like Marion in that lineup. They could still make the playoffs in the East.

Remember the talk of the "Twin Towers" in Toronto, and how J.O. was gonna turn it around up in Canadia? Some of you are so funny ;)

So, the real question is:

TJ Ford, Rasho Nesterovic, Maceo Baston, and Roy Hibbert

or

Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks.

We fleeced the poor Raptors.

Like what alot of you have already said: The Pacers got the best deal out of the Toronto trade. I feel kind of bad for them.

RECAP:

Pacers trade:
Jermaine O'neal

Pacers Get:
Rasho Nesterovic
TJ Ford
Maceo Baston
First round pick (Roy Hibbert)

Raptors Trade:
Jermaine Oneal
Jemerio Moon
First round pick

Raptors Get:
Shawn Marion
Marcus Banks
Cash (3 Million)

All in all Toronto has traded away 2 first round picks, Rasho, Ford, Baston, Oneal, and Moon.
All they have to show for it is Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks? Too bad. Hopefully they can do something about Marion's expiring.

Go Pacers..

I am looking forward to watch Wade-Oneal matchup again, but different Oneal LOL.

Wow, a first too?

Ford, Rasho, Maceo, Hibbert, Moon, and a 1st for Marion, Jawai, and Banks. WOW!

yeah if Marion walks that means the Raps traded Rasho, TJ, Baston, Hibbert, Moon and a conditional #1 for Marcus Banks and $3 million. I can't see a reason why Marion would want to stay with Toronto no one else does. :-?

Adding in the first makes it just cruel in my opinion. I didn't see that at first. Toronto better have that thing protected, or I dont know what they're doing.

Ehh thinking about it I guess this draft isn't great, but still.

Don't. I did to before he got to Miami. No need for that. He has the BBall IQ of a post.

Not really. This year, Marion has managed to play in 42 games. JO has played in 41. This just gives Miami what they need - size - while actually helping their 2k10 cap space. I'm not expecting a healthy JO, but a JO for 50 games is better than a Jamaal Magloire for 82 games...

I like the move much better for Miami. Marion is kind of overrated when he isn't playing "Suns' Ball With Nash". While playing in Toronto under Colangelo will help, he's not the same player he has previously been made out to be. Neither is Jermaine, except that he'll give Miami a frontcourt player to aid Dwyane Wade, while allowing Beasley all the minutes he needs at the 3. Moon is a nice player too, although albeit a little rough offensively.

Toronto gets an expiring and a player who better compliments their system, but they also get Banks's bad deal. People are enamored with Banks due to athleticism and speed, but they don't realize that he lacks any real knowledge to run the PG position.

The trade has a higher ceiling for the Heat.
