^Not gonna happen, but...

Pacers' owner Herb Simon said he doesn't want to move the club, though he acknowledges that the financial losses associated with running Conseco Fieldhouse have accelerated the past three years.

"I have no thought of leaving Indiana," he said. "Only a thought of preserving the Pacers and keeping them in Indiana. That's the only issue right here."

Simon, who has owned the team with his brother, Mel, since 1983, said he doesn't need help with the Pacers.

"We can handle the team," he said. "It's the operation of the facility that's causing us the problem. We're not asking anyone to pay for us. It's just the operating of the facility."

Indy is the thirteenth largest city in the USA. Indiana is the cradle of basketball. Our city supported this team long before the NBA engulfed it, and now I'm supposed to believe they'll relocate the team if we don't ante up. Regardless we won't lose them, and we'll pay up.

What is unbelievable is Stern has the nerve to sit there and talk to the media about his concerns for the Pacers financial woes. This guy essentially executed our champion-ready team in 04. Hmmmm. He has the audacity to act like the city of Indy is the problem here. Clealry David's unjust actions led to the Simons losing millions, and left the fans rooting for a bunch of players he villified. I certainly wouldn't turn my back on Stern.

His next great act will consist of trying to get the King to play for his favorite team. He'll also make sure Blake Griffin gets drafted by his hometown NBA franchise, like Rose and Lebron before him. Hell, he probabably has referees cheat to help/hurt ones chances in the draft. He is a splendid liar.

I think it was somewhat of a different situation for the browns since the decision was solely on the owner's part(Art Modell), than the commissioner like Stern is doing with the pacers.

but yes the browns retained the history and returned a few or so years later.

anyway I hope you guys don't get your team taken away, that would be lame.
