Pacers Psychic Predictions: 3/25/09
Big rest, then JO and Dwayne Wade roll into town. We didn't have a prediction thread for the Bobcats (whew for me), and cdash got closest against the Mavs.
Miami?
Pacers by 5.

If Ford starts, Heat by 5. If Rush starts, Pacers by 5.
I'm going to go with Rush starting, so Pacers by 5 will be my guess.

I'd love to see how JO does against the Pacers.
I really think the Pacers can beat the Heat by 9 points. Plus the Heat just played a hard nosed game against the Pistons yesterday.

Wade is going to torch us. Hopefully Obie has the cajones to put Rush on Wade. The more likely scenario is that JJ will be assigned to Wade.

Wade will torch whoever is guarding him, plus the refs give him at least 10 free points a night on free throws. But if Jack is guarding him, we will lose. Rush almost always gets in the face of shooters, he disrupts more perimeter shots than anyone else on the Pacers that I can remember. If we can make it hard for Wade to hit outside shots we stand a much better shot of winning. Hes going to get to the rim regardless.
Seriously, is anyone else willing to bet the refs call a flagrant on Hibbert in the first 5 seconds for standing on the same court as Wade?

Wade is banged up and is not practicing with his team.
Hibbert might get ejected for looking at Wade during the national anthem, or even during the shootaround.

So what is the minimum amount of games that must be guessed? I am in favor of a lot, like... 30? I don't remember exactly how many games we have left, but I think that could work.

20 is the minimum, but if we make it 30, there'll only be like 10 people at the end in the standings. This season, it's 20, cause we're just trying it out.
The future I'll make it 40 games, just less than half the season.

Might as well make it 41 games then, right?

No, cdash. What are you thinking? See the blue bold font that makes me special and gives me the ability to censor your art? It's the same font that makes my ideas instantly
GENIOUS
.
We'll feel it out next season. 40 games to me is a nice, round number (I originally thought 50 would be good, but that just seems like a lot). I figure I'll post my rules during the preseason, and anybody who objects can voice their concerns then. The minimum games thing just needs to be participation encouragement, as too many games is deterrent and a lot of people will feel like they can't get caught up and I'll have to turn away more newcomers once we pass the 32-game mark. 40 to me is more than enough to gauge one's "psychic" abilities.

So glad I didn't vote, I almost posted earlier
