He's listed at 6'9, he's really athletic, he's a great rebounder, and the best shot blocker in college basketball (that includes Thabeet). Chad Ford projects him at mid to late first round. Screw it, let's take him at 13. I like this guy. He could step in and give us minutes at the four, rebound, and defend. He's not much on the offensive end, but he could be a solid rotation guy for years.

I really haven't heard of him before, but from the sounds of it, he'd actually be a guy I'd reach for...just not Patterson or Blair.

He's a junior who plays at Mississippi State. I think he's exactly the type of guy we need. I had kept an eye on him last year when I saw him getting 10 block games, but didn't know much else about him. I like that he fills a multitude of needs for us. Hopefully Bird and Morway have an eye on him.

Is he first round material? I haven't had the pleasure of seeing him play, but a few of you guys seem high on him, so is he a hidden gem or a 2nd round target?

Time. Time to draft players, develop them and time to get rid of Tinsley's, Dunleavy's and Murphy's contracts. If you look at the late 80's early 90's Pacers we draft all those guys. Fleming, Reggie, Person, Det, Smits, Dale. They played together developed and some were traded for other pieces and other players were sprinkled in, Mark Jackson, Tony Davis, Byron Scott, and they became a great team. We need time to get more players. Granger, Rush, Hibbert, and maybe Mcbob will be the only players on this team when we start winning again, by that I mean 50 plus wins. We need about 3 more decent drafts and by then well have cap room to get some other solid players hopefully. Well that's my opinion on it, right now we are just treading water and buying time.

In this year's draft? Absolutely. Lottery material? Might be pushing it a little. I think he's a lot better than people think though. His measurements are important. If he is a legit 6'9 (kind of doubt it), he'll be a solid pick. If he is 6'7ish...go fish.

I voted for other because I think the defensive problem is still at the point. TJ is fast on offense but doesn't stay in front of anyone on defense. Jack makes the effort but isn't that quick. do we need a second coming of DD or AD? sure but Hibbert will get better and I think McBob looked a lot better than I expected and I never did understand why O'B gave him so little pt.

basically though what we need is time. Danny really had a great year. Rush looked better as a rookie than Danny did at that stage. Mike either comes back or turns into an insurance settlement a la Bender.

sure I'd trade Tinsley but otherwise I'm really not in the market for a trade or a free agent. if Rasho and Quis move on, fine. the draft will give us someone. could be a 4. could be a point. either could help. not much interested in another wing player unless Mike's injury is worse than we expect ... which is possible.

I don't think necessarily that we need "post defense", but I do think we could use a defensive presence in the paint a la Dale Davis in his prime. It's just too bad that those type of players don't grow on trees. A guy who can intimidate and alter shots around the rim will help cover up some of our perimeter defense's lapses.
