The owners of the old ABA franchise in St. Louis get a percentage of the TV contract as long as a team is not there. That has been one of the reasons why they do not have a team there now.
The resentment for the NBA is pretty thick in Seattle. Even with the financial incentives for building a new arena, there is about zero chance they take advantage.
Pittsburgh seems to always have financial problems with the Pens and Pirates. Not for sure that is really a great market. Not for sure KC or Cincinnati would be any better.
Tampa and the three Cali cities could be options. However, my choice would be Vancouver. It is just that beautiful.
