With the way things are in the US economy, I don't think owners will be complaining about a franchise in a stable market.

Some of those cities mentioned i.e KC and St louis, will have to discount there tickets.

Is the Canadian economy any better?

Until you come watch a game in NC and I go watch a game in Indiana, neither of us can really say - but if you think its only the student sections going crazy in Duke/UNC/NCState/Wake and so on, your wrong - it is absolutely nuts. I've said plenty of times, maybe Indiana is more passionate, but to say its not even close is ridiculous, and I'm sticking by that.

I'm not saying NC isn't pretty strong, but Indiana just always has been basketball. I don't think you can understand. What high school football is to Texas and Ohio really isn't close to what basketball is to Indiana. Basketball came 2nd to only Jesus Christ in 90% of the state for almost 90 years, and in some communities, Jesus was found a little lacking.

I went to a game at UNC against Virginia I think? I was like 13, and they played an ACC foe. I think it was UVA. It was great. I have also been to games at IU, Purdue, Butler, and Notre Dame. The ND game I went to was nuts, but it was when they beat UConn when they were #1 with Okafor and Ben Gordon. That was better, but is unfair because #1 is a lot better than seeing Virginia. I have been to many Butler games. The UNC game was better than most of the games. A couple games were crazy though, because they were playing to win the conference title and won at the buzzer. Purdue and IU were great. IU a few years back had a better environment, even when playing Northwester (comparable to UVA). Most IU games were better, however I didn't go to any this year. Purdue has had some wild games, but IU>Purdue for the most part.

I have always wanted to go to a Duke game, and Duke UNC would be awesome.

I'm pretty sure his younger, shorter brother works at the Buffalo Wild Wings near my apartment. They just call him Country though, and he's pretty unpleasant.

Funny.

The owners of the old ABA franchise in St. Louis get a percentage of the TV contract as long as a team is not there. That has been one of the reasons why they do not have a team there now.

The resentment for the NBA is pretty thick in Seattle. Even with the financial incentives for building a new arena, there is about zero chance they take advantage.

Pittsburgh seems to always have financial problems with the Pens and Pirates. Not for sure that is really a great market. Not for sure KC or Cincinnati would be any better.

Tampa and the three Cali cities could be options. However, my choice would be Vancouver. It is just that beautiful.

Vancouver is on my bucket list of cities to go to (the only Canadian city to make it). I hear great things. Alas, I am poor and it is not that high on my priority list.

If you don't like Chinese people, Vancouver's not for you...

Same with Purdue. Instead of Chinese it is Asian, though.

I'm fine with Chinese people. As long as there are no white people there.

--- Which is one of the foolish things the Grizzlies did/didn't do in Vancouver. Stu Jackson could have picked up Nash, which would have filled BC Place for 15 years, and he could have drafted a Chinese player - frankly, any of them would have kept season tickets sold out. Vancouver has a very large population of extremely wealthy Chinese who came here when Hong Kong reverted.

The Bleacher report story also mentioned the Aquilini's refurbishment of the stadium, their wealth - the Grizzlies franchise was put together on a poorly-financed shoestring by Arthur Griffiths Jr., a big part of why the team left so quickly - and a number of other factors that make Vancouver a good bet for another franchise.
It appears to really rankle Stern that the NBA had failure here.

I have no connections to Indiana either. However, i feel very different about this. I wouldn't cheer for the "new" Pacers team, and more then likely, not root for anyone anymore in the NBA. Since i am not a local citizen of that area, it shouldn't matter to me much, but i've grown as a Pacers fan and i would feel deep remorse for the fans that i respect and the people i've gotten to get to know for the past whatever years i've been on forums, and for the city, which would take a big hit in losing it's team. I would be angry with the NBA and most likely quit.

If the Pacers left Indianapolis, that would be it for me with the NBA.

I am too sports obsessed, but I wouldn't watch nearly as much, especially on a nightly basis like I do now. I would be pissed and break a lot of stuff and write many letters. I would probably go to New York and look for Stern and leave a present for him all over his car.
