Pacers Coach: Looking Forward

Post#1 » by PR07 » Thu Jun 11, 2009 5:21 am

With most people (including myself) assuming that this will be Jim O'Brien's last season, who are some guys you like? After hearing about Mike Brown possibly getting canned, he's definitely a guy I'd target. The other guy I like, who might also get canned next year sometime, is Byron Scott. I think he's a tremendous coach. I think they're two guys to definitely consider. My wildcard would probably be Mark Jackson. He seems pretty knowledgeable, but the fact that he has 0 coaching experience is a bit of a turn-off for me.

I wanted Mark Jackson before we got JOB and i'm still on that bandwagon. He's very knowledgeable from what i hear from him on television. I do agree that having no previous coaching experience is a turn-off but i expect Bird to quiz him pretty well at the interview and if he passes it, he passes my doubts.

Jeff Van Gundy, Tom Thibodeau, Mark Jackson, in that order. Not Avery Johnson. His voice is shrill and annoying and I don't think I could support him.

Mike Brown could get fired, according to something I just read on RealGM. I still like him as an assistant, though. I want Carlisle back, Cuban will probably get sick of him if he can't take them to the finals. Yeah, I like Van Gundy and Mark Jackson. I couldn't stand Avery Johnson and his huge lips and mouth and voice and blah.

Please God not Avery Johnson!!!

I would like to see Mark Jackson get a shot. Also I in the minority think JOB has a better chance of staying around then everyone is giving him.

Avery Johnson would help out team, but it's going to be an obnoxious press conference.

Jeff Van Gundy complains a lot.

Mark Jackson is untested.

Overall, there's great candidates, but Obie might get a longer tenure than we'd like. Still, it just seems to be the fans upset with his delivery, although some articles have been saying he sucks.

My vote would be for Mark Jackson.
