Pacers Want To Trade Tinsley for Possibly Another First-Round Draft Pick

The Indianapolis Star has found out that Indiana Pacers point guard, Jamaal Tinsley, is looking to be traded for another first-round pick. Larry Bird has been trying to trade Tinsley all off-season but it seems that nobody is going to take him.

Though I like their optimism. I don't think it has a chance of happening.

Tinsley is worth a late round pick. Especially if we take back a bad contract.

see now what constitutes a bad contract. because theres bad and theres long. im ok with long depending on the player.

While that is an interesting offer, i think Minnesota would just prefer the $3 million for that pick and i don't see anyone, including a team who will have Stephen Curry or Ricky Rubio on it's roster, want Tinsley.

Why would Minnesota want Tinsley? He's not a guy I want around young players.

Wow, that's just sloppy reporting on this Josh Dhani's part.

He says the Pacers are looking to trade Tinsley for a first rounder (actually, he says Tinsley is looking to be traded for a first rounder, which is a complete grammatical mis-fire), but then he links this article:

Which actually says:

Bird hasn't rule out trading for a second first-round pick.

"We have some options to do some things," he said. "You never really know until it gets up to the draft. We'll have some opportunities to do some things. If you can do some things and get two players that can help you, you'll have to look at it. There's a lot of things we're mulling over."

One player that likely won't be moved this week is locked-out point guard Jamaal Tinsley. The Pacers hope to move Tinsley before they go to arbitration at the end of July.

"Every day we talk about it, we contact teams," Bird said. "We're always putting feelers out there to see if we can get anything done."

The guy just completely screwed up the source material.

What the Indianapolis Star has found out is that (a) the Pacers are open to trading for another first round pick, and (b) Jamaal Tinsley probably won't be traded this week. That's almost diametrically opposed to what this blogger claimed.
