We solidified our bench with a starter from a pretty good team. There is a chance we make the playoffs so DJs experience could prove invaluable.

Don't act as if he owes the nuggets anything, he's a good player and if you didn't call him up someone would have.

The difference between the nuggets and the pacers, as far as rep goes, we HAD character issues and quickly cleaned those up when things went bad. You guys appear to ignore/embrace them.

Good one. I think the Nuggets just embrace winning right now.

Best of luck. I imagine you'll start to see some of the frustrations we had with him after the season starts. He's pretty athletic, so you'll no doubt see some nice dunks over the course of the season.

A dunk, in Indiana?! That's unheard of. Seriously, we had like what, 2 good dunks this year? I think I remember Granger having a good one and then someone else getting an oop and thinking "Wow, that'll be on SportsCenter". That happened very few times, though. I can't think of any very good dunks in a while, except Dunleavy had a pretty nasty one in 07/08, I believe.

Did McBob have a nasty putback slam?

And M4E, I loved the comment of course.

Ooh and if Jones is a good defender he seems like the type of guy that would be a good guy off the bench for a good playoff team. It really does seem like we are building our team backwards, meaning getting the important role players before we get the stars (Possibly Jones and definitely Hansbrough, in my opinion). We just need that superstar to fall in our laps somehow. D-Wade, don't sign anything!! You can live in my house!! I have a pool! You can have my basketball card collection!! C'mon D-Wade!!! (I don't know why I am even saying I like him so much. Aside from it being next to impossible for us to get him, I actually think he is a little bit overrated in the league. But Mmmmm a combo of Wade and Granger is awesome, and I love Wade, Rush, and Granger at the end of games.)

Back to Jones--I am only a little worried b/c I hate having longer contracts on guys (4 years isn't too long, just a little bit for a guy who may get no PT. I guess it's a few million bucks as insurance if some1 gets hurt or Dunleavy doesn't come back, so maybe I should rescind that statement. I am typing this after I listed off the players, so I am just going to keep that. I need to get more organaized! Sorry to any1 who read this and I wasted a minute of their life). Tinsley didn't help that. And for a while neither did Murphy or Dunleavy... Or JO. Or Croshere. Etc.

Yes, we should be cautious about who we add to the roster, but he isn't a headcase at all from what I've seen. He works hard and plays the game with passion. Maybe sometimes his play flirts on dirty, but the Pacers haven't really had a tenacious defender since Artest left, and it's showed in our perimeter defense. Now, if we got 4-5 loose cannons, I'd be worried, but Dahntay was sorely needed.

I totally agree with this. Jones is a wild card. Larry definitely knows that and if we could develop Jones to be a reliable offensive contributor, then we might just found the slasher Indiana's been lacking.
And remember those nights when Indiana was way ahead in points then all of a sudden, for some reasons, we couldn't keep our momentum, gave up and eventually lost? Now, somehow, we have the answer to that recurring dilemma in Jones. One big Dahntay Jones dunk can surely hype up the guys and restore their moral. We needed that.

I'm really not sold on Dahntay Jones being the answer to our problems. Yes, I remember those nights and I remember how stagnant our offense was during those stretches. Players were just standing around, ball watching and waiting for the ball to come to them. Now we add a player that the opposing team doesn't even have to guard because he can't shoot if his life depended on it. So we take an already stagnant offense, and we subtract a scoring threat? Not to mention this is a guy whose team net gain got worse when he was on the floor. Now, somehow, we expect Dahntay Jones to come off the bench and provide a spark when we need it. Sorry for my skepticism, I'm just not buying it.

Hey, I'm not here to troll... but what do u make out of Hollinger's tweet?

Den fans asking me why Afflalo over Dahntay - he costs less and can actually shoot. Indy should have done this deal; they had exception too

I agree with Hollinger. Afflalo would have been a nice replacement to Jack. Maybe Detroit didn't want to trade in division and preferred just sending him out west. Or maybe Bird didn't even think of it as a possibility.

Who knows... we're just along for the ride hoping Bird's making the right decisions.

We signed Dahntay before Detroit decided that they wanted to move Afflalo and Sharpe for pure cap space.

It appears that us signing Dahntay is what lead to Denver then being able to take on Afflalo and Sharpe without giving back any salary.

^^I second the sarcasm.

It's cool to have people from other boards, and it's your right to post useless comments, but boy...

So does anyone have a link to the video of the press conference from today? I don't see it on the website at all.
