1. I agree that Boston is set to become a young team again in the not to distant future, but they have the Boston 3 party set in place until 2012, and they do have all their draft picks in between the times, to start building again. (2010 draft is said to be even heavier in SG's and SF's). But like I said in an earlier post, championships cost you youth to rebuild and vice versa.

2. I think the move to land Daniels is going to be more then a one year deal. Under the LLE, you have to guarantee two years, with an option for a third. Given we are about to go through the 2010 debacle, and 2011 is sure to have a shortfall, do you honestly think "security" isn't in the mind of any NBA free agent?

You're correct in that Boston must offer it as a two year deal, but Daniels doesn't have to accept that salary for both years. He can opt out next year Posey-style and cash in on being a valuable bench player on a competing team. IMO, this is what he's looking to do if he can't get more salary in a S&T. He's smart to do it too. With a team with high paid vets and Rondo looking at a big pay day too, I'd like to see the team pay more and lock him up with Bird rights to keep him as a valuable bench player. Considering our cap situation if the LLE is used up for this year and next we don't have many good options for filling out the bench. The other contenders are stacked... that bench is going to need to have some real players, especially as the Big 3 age.
