Granger out 4 to 6 weeks; now what?

Post#1 » by godlovesthepacers » Tue Dec 8, 2009 9:22 pm

I hope O'Brien plays Hibbert & Rush more. I hope Rush will have benefited from getting benched & can gain back his confidence to become the guy he was at the end of last season. Hopefully, Jones & Dunleavy can carry the scoring load.

I hope TJ Ford doesn't think he's got the green light now for any shot he wants.

Its a green light for Dahntay Jones and Mike Dunleavy to step up. Jones has already shown he is worthy of playing, if Dunleavy can play like he did a couple years ago and average close to 20 a game, it will help. Rush needs to get his confidence back as well

I think the Pacers are gonna have a nice high-lottery pick next summer.

Ford is going to try to take over the team, and will shoot his way into what will eventually be the worst FG% of any starting PG in the league, and he'll get that TO per game average up over 2.5.

Some guy in one of my fantasy leagues dropped James Harden to pick up Ford.

I laughed a lot. I hope Ford proves me wrong, though (highly unlikely).

This season is going downhill fast anyway. I'm not talking tanking, but it's time to play the kids plus Dunleavy and Watson. Bench Murphy and Ford in particular, start Hibbert, Hansborough, Dunleavy, Rush, and Watson, with Foster and DJones first off and getting major minutes off the bench. Make SJones, Head, Murphy, McRoberts, and Ford come off the bench as they deserve. Give the Price kid some minutes too, to see what he's got.

C - Hibbert
PF - Hansborough
SF - Dunleavy
SG - Rush
PG - Watson

Minus Watson, I see those guys, along with Danny, as the near and longer range future of this team. We need to dump Murphy and Ford, draft a decent backup PF, and either sign a decent free agent PG or trade for one.

Not a horrible idea, I think. I don't want to give up on Rush.

Hansbrough still hasn't gotten clearance for full playing time yet, so he's not going to start.

I do agree about Price. I'd rather see Price and Diener out there instead of TJ Ford.

We're in the deep doo dooo now! I think this season is about lost. I'm for playing the kids. I'd look to unload TJ and Murphy someplace. Fact is we aren't going anywhere any how!

I'd like to see Luther Head more in the rotation to show what he can do, but I'd also like to see Brandon Rush start to get more minutes too.

I'm not impressed with Luther Head, because the shooting he's known for is actually very inefficient. His form is kinda sad.

Rush does need more minutes because his defense is great, and if he looks to penetrate more and shoot in rhythm it'll be at least serviceable this year on offense.

I think that we need to run more plays. More plays. More plays. Less pass-away. The problem is when we get stopped on the fastbreak our offense is broken. We need a plan B, because not every possession can get started on the break. That's the difference between us and Phoenix, another high-tempo team. Oh, Phoenix also has the opposite of TJ Ford in Steve Nash. And they have Amare.
