no way I trade Dunleavy before February. you won't get much until he shows if he's healthy and back to normal and if he shows that you probably don't want to trade him at all unless a contender makes you an offer you can't refuse.

If the Warriors really want to dump Maggette's salary, three deals I'd say are reasonable...

1) Maggette & #4/5 for Dunleavy & #10
2) Maggette & Brandan Wright for Dunleavy & filler
3) Maggette & Anthony Randolph for Dunleavy & #10

1) The Pacers would have to REALLY love somebody at 4/5 (like Derrick Favors, or project that Cousins would drop) for this one to work. Not out of the realm of possibilities though.

2) I'm not sure that Brandan Wright really holds much, if any, value right now, nor over the offseason. He hasn't shown much, and now he's coming off a big injury. Kind of tough to assign him value. Looks an awful lot like Indy's trading Dun straight up for Magg's, and that's a big no.

3) I don't get a chance to see AR play too often, but Bird and company would have to like Randolph an awful lot to give up a lotto pick and take on the last couple years of Magg's contract. If they view a Randolph/Hansbrough PF tandem as a long-term partner with Hibbert, then maybe, yeah. I'm sure Indy would love this deal a bit more if somehow it could turn into a 3 team deal and get Indy a late 1st rounder in this draft though, to replace the 1st rounder they'd lose here. This is an interesting one, though.

I only like the first deal.... If we could draft top five: Favors/Cousins/WesJohnson our commitment with Maggette becomes stomachable.

The second I certainly don't like

The third deal is way out of balance. I'd rather take my chances on the #10 (Monroe/Patterson/Udoh) and the expiring. Heck, even Jujuan Johnson could be had in the second, he is very similar to Randolph.

I don't care what the Warriors give up....but no on Maggette's contract....it's a total cap killer.

You'd be crazy Maggette/Curry for Dunleavy straight up. Absolutely crazy.

So, what's the best he could get? 3 years/9 million if he plays pretty decently this next season?

Even coming off of the season he's had - 2 years ago he could have gotten $15mill over 4 years (4th as an ETO/player option). Now... 2 years for $5mill with a team option at $3mill on the 3rd year? I think we'll be seeing a more frugal NBA next off-season when Dunleavy comes due.

Warriors wouldn't give up Curry just to get rid of Maggette's contract though, so it's a moot point. I'd rather just hold onto Dunleavy's expiring and hope that Ed Davis or someone falls to us at #10.

I don't know. I mean, how big of players will we be in 2011? I know we have the money but, in all seriousness, how many big time players will consider Indiana as a landing spot? I read an article recently about the Knicks and their hopes for the 2010 summer, and it's still to be seen but it said it wouldn't be shocked if they don't land James, Wade or Bosh. The article stated, these stars, have already sweated enough rebuilding teams into contenders or what not, and they want to go somewhere stable, not to another 2-3 rebuilding job. If Indiana has a horrid season next season, i doubt they will sign anyone of significance. Thats why to me, it was so important this season to land a high pick and aim for the stars and pray for a Wall or Turner and hope they play well, and hope we can build on to the youth and have a real shot at the playoffs next year.

If, they think a guy who can be a serious contributor to this roster still available at GSW pick, i wouldn't hesitate twice to grab him.

I don't know I might consider a swap of picks and Dun for Maggs but that 2 yr salary hit is repulsive. Also I don't know where Maggs plays for us.

Dunleavy was great not too long ago.
He can be a Full MLE guy no problem with the skillset.
Question is really his health/ability to get back reasonable athleticism.

Could just be too late.

But he'll get more years in the NBA.
