Of the teams in the lottery this year, five teams -- the Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons, Utah Jazz, Indiana Pacers and Memphis Grizzlies -- have never won the lottery.

If the NBA is going to do a favor to anyone, maybe it should stack the deck toward the Pacers. Since the Ron Artest brawl, the franchise has been snakebitten. Now with Larry Bird running the show it seems to be in the NBA's best interest to help out this once-proud franchise. A lottery win could really catapult the Pacers back into the mix in the East. What they need more than anything else is an athletic point guard. Add Wall to the mix and the Pacers are a dangerous playoff team next year.

I'd kind of rather end up with #2 and get Turner, but I'm not going to complain either way. Am I the only person that Tivos the draft lottery whenever the Pacers are in it?

To tell you guys the truth i really do think the nba lottery is rigged and if it lets the Pacers win then i am completely fine with that. I think it starts around 8:30 but i am not completely sure. THE PACERS DESERVE THIS. I would probably pass out if we won.

For all practical purposes, even the #3 is a horrific long shot: 1 pct. chance of getting the #1, 1.5 pct. chance of getting #3.

If the Pacers come up with even the third pick, we should all do a happy dance. Favors or Cousins would look great in a Pacers uni.

That was the Shaq year.
It was also the last lotto under the exponential system (worst team had 11 balls, 2nd worst had 10... down to the best team (ORL) which had 1).
I'm still hoping that there will be tiers in the future. It would at least slow the tanking.
