I love this pick. Even though we haven't gotten a point guard Larry suprised me tonight by drafting based on talent instead of experience. I think our team just got a little more athletic...FINALLY!

yes... talent... the first word that comes to mind when i hear "ryan reid."

haha, talent indeed. All I could find on youtube of Reid was him elbowing some guy on the basketball court.
Perhaps that is our new defensive philosophy for next season. Send our defensive specialist reid to take care of the Kobes and Lebrons by taking them out of the game

Lance Stephenson: a first-round talent who might need a babysitter. Who knows, he could be a steal, but he could also be another Shawne Williams. I'm kind of amazed by this pick.

Ryan Reid, LOL...he must be Larry Bird's nephew or something. I had to look him up to figure out who the hell he is. I discovered that his college stats were, shall we say, less than impressive.

Really surprised the Pacers didn't take any point guards...thought for sure it would be Torrance when he was still on the board at 57. Then again, the entire league passed on him, so maybe that tells you something. The Pacers must have a trade brewing somewhere; no way they go into next season with T.J. Ford as their only healthy pg.

This changes everything, because "Magnum Rolle" is one of the coolest names I've ever seen.

LOL. He sounds like a Mafia boss, a hitman, or something. Hope he comes out smokin!
I can't believe Torrance and Collins were left undrafted, there's gotta be something. maybe we can sign either of them? well, after disposing some to make room for either of them.

Rolle won't be on the roster.
Hibbert
Foster
Murphy
Hansbrough
McRoberts
Jones

Pacers already have 6 players to fill 2 spots. They don't need 7.

Um, if Rolle won't even be on the roster, why did we send cash to OKC to get him? You gotta at least give him a chance.

We'll see how he does in summer league.

And I think there's a good chance that Bird has some plans to move 2 guys in a deal for a PG. Murphy, Rush, McBobs for X and Y? there's a roster spot freed up.

I like the Stephenson pick, I guess. But remember, 2nd round picks are crapshoots anyway, don't get worked up about them until one of them pans out.

I couldn't believe it when we got Lance. I wanted him, and I talked about him in the draft thread in like April, but I never thought Larry would go for it! Then to hear that he tried to get a second 1st to move up and get Lance just floored me. There's no question Bird has an eye for talent. Man, if he can pan out this would be a huge steal. I'm rooting for you, Lance!

I'm in the same mindset. Never did i thought Bird would buy a pick. Maybe, just maybe, since Larry said they're going to deal with the point guard issues on July 1st, maybe he could trade away a package to open up the roster a little bit. Rolle is a good defensive guy, i expect him to be in the roster next season.

I don't think Torrance got drafted at all which tells you something although it also gives you the option to bring him to camp as a free agent. I was a little disappointed when we took Lance over Varnado who went 41 but he does have big time potential. also I was hoping we'd use our second pick on a European point guard like Shved but we do have a little roster room with Diener gone and Head unlikely to return.

wonder if we'll use the D-league. we've never done that at all.
