Our expiring contracts....
Between July 1 and next February's trade deadline, at what point do our expirings start to become valuable? You can respond as a whole picture or by individual player.

Trade for Tony Parker, I think Spurs are trying to rebuild after drafting Anderson, They were also trying to get Ed Davis to be the Replacement for Tim Duncan. They moved Hill to point guard over Parker during the playoffs and it seems they drafted Anderson to replace Manu when his contract is up. Even if parker came for a year we would be a better team then we were. We could give the Spurs a young player for the future and some Expirings to help them make a run this year.

Ginobili just signed a nice extension. So they didn't draft Anderson to replace him. They took Anderson because George will be playing more at the point, eventually leading to Parker's departure. The playoffs said it all, I agree 2thawindy.
If SA wanted to deal Parker then I could see them being extremely interested in Murphy. At this point SA needs to address their needs very quickly, and when you have two really good pg's, the cheaper one could make the other expendable. We see it playing out in New Orleans too.
Right now all of our expirings are valuable, even TJ. Troy Murphy has the highest value and could net us something really nice. Regardless, I wouldn't give up no future picks but I'd swap Murphy + Jones for Parker + filler (big). Parker would be outta here like Peja, so I wouldn't give anything but expiring assets.
Right now our other expirings will be most valuable around the deadline. We know TJ won't be here too long so don't expect that his value will add anything significant to our roster. If we can stomache him until the deadline, we'll get a late first for him though. Some teams give away firsts because they're focused on f/agents, while teams like ours prefers to draft.

It was only a 3 year deal, that is why I put when his contract is up. Paul's price is gonna be too much, and Hill is a lot better insurance than Collison. Not to say Collison won't be good but I think hill has proven to be better player.
I think Andre Iguodala, will be shopped at trade deadline and Pacers could get him for a 3 pt shooter like Rush and Murphy to help out Evan Turner. If we had Iguodala a lot of teams would be interested in picking him up from us and we could get more for him than our expirings.

Monta Ellis is another player sometimes mentioned with expiring contracts. I am fine with acquiring very good players for expiring deals, but Philly won't sell Andre for that or they already would've. Monta on the other hand has somebody (Curry) pushing him out of GS. I bet he could be had.

He will be once they figure out how bad there team will be this year. They will be similar to the Nets just not 12 wins, maybe 20. The Nets had talent, but players that just weren't good playing with each other. Philly looks like a perfect example of that.

I've got to think if we could get Ellis for Ford and Rush we'd do it. I'd be willing to add a little sweetener maybe a pick swap with protection. This would depend on the situation in GSW front office, are they blowing it up and starting over.
Iggy would be a nice fit with Granger but now that we have George... I'm still not sure where George plays if he can play SG then you gotta think Rush and Dunleavy are on the block.
I think if Toronto loses Bosh and it seems they will, they might look to clear their books and start over. What about MDJ for Jack and Evans. I don't want Turk especially now that we have George.
I heard speculation that Memphis is looking to move Mike Conley, I'd take him in a second and give him the starter job he is on a rookie contract has 1 more year and then his QC offer, if he doesn't work we don't have a huge salary invested in him.
I'm sure there are some other things that could be done, but after last night I'm scratching my head.

I'm trying to think of teams that will need money next year to sign their free agents. Denver, OKC, and San Antonio come to mind. I think Spurs are the team to make a trade with for maybe George Hill. Haven't run anything through trade checker yet but I think a Murphy for Hill and ? would be something both teams are interested in.
