I'd probably be pretty annoyed if I were a fan of the opposing teams. The announcers have loved the PAcers and our young players the last few days. haha very much pro-pacer talk. gotta love it

All three of our guys in the rookie ladder top 8 again.

(Whatever that is worth heh.)
Also, no assists yet for Lance, anyone able to comment? (Haven't got vision here.)

ha I like seeing it. I our guys have really been solid, I honestly can't wait for the season. I don't expect them to be immediate all-stars or anything, but I think we will compete and be exciting. Finally some hope! haha

McBob played great. That's the way he should be playing every game.

I like that McBob was able to joke about his awful shooting in the previous 2 games

Stat line for the Pacers "big 4":
J. McRoberts 21 pts, 3 reb, 4 asst, 1 blk
P. George 15 pts, 9 reb, 3 asst, 1 stl
M. Rolle 10 pts, 8 reb, 4 blk
L. Stephenson 19 pts, 2 reb, 1 stl
These four guys pretty much make up our entire summer league team. So far everyone seems to be impressed with the three Pacers' rookies. I am still a little skeptical with Stephenson's ability to effectively play the PG. I think he is more of a scoring guard, and the 0 assists that he put up today are a little bit of a concern for me. However, he obviously is one of the best players in Orlando right now. And the really great thing is he is still only 19! Paul George IMO has shown flashes of his potential. I think he could have a Danny Granger-like climb where his numbers drastically increase from his 1st to 3rd year in the league. I still think he really needs to work on his ballhandling skills. Every time he dribbles I'm afraid he's going to throw it off his foot. Magnum Rolle has just been an overall nice surprise. He deserves to make this team, and I think he will. He has the athleticism and motor to be a nice player for us. Another good game for the rookie trio.

Agreed. And after seeing Paul play a few games the Danny G. comparison fits perfectly. Once he starts to get comfortable, as well as find a spot in the rotation and find a position, he will flourish. When we got Danny we changed his position multiple times as well as his spot in the rotation. I think he will have less pressure to affect either end of the court in his first year than Danny did.

Lance was gettin people wide open shots and they haven't been hittin. He'll be fine at point. Put him out there with Danny, Brandon, and Roy and he will be puttin up around 9 to 10 assists a game. That is if he starts and gets 27 to 32 minutes a game.

more like 5 or 6 assists. 9 to 10 is a little crazy

Come on man. Stop being such a homer. 9-10 assists is good for top 5 in the NBA behind only Nash, Paul, and Deron. That's just ridiculous. Those guys (other than Nash) even play 36-39 minutes a night. Not 27-32 minutes.
As you can see tonight, let's hope for 1. 1 would be a start. 1 is more realistic. 3-4 would be ridiculously awesome. 7-8 would be a miracle. 9-10 would be more indicative of the rapture.
Nothing about your Lance Stephenson love paints you as a decently knowledgeable basketball fan. Tone it down a bit in your predictions. Sure, love the guy. He seems like he could be an awesome scorer as possibly a combo guard, but he's always going to be much more of a Gil Arenas combo guard than a Steve Nash pure distributor.

Sorry man, but you are homing so hard on Stephenson. I think he can be good, but "9 to 10 assists a game" as a rookie is absolutely absurd. He will most likely never average that at any time in his career let alone in year one. He is more of a scorer than anything. I'll gladly eat my words if he ever becomes that efficient of a PG, but lets tone down the homer-ism a little bit here.

Re: Summer LEague Pacers vs Jazz
1 Our 3 rookies all played well.
2 Lance has been a revelation so far for me. Ranked number 1 amongst the rooks on the NBA ladder. He should get a good look at point guard this year and I hope he does well. Does anyone think he can be a Russel Westbrook type point guard?
3 I like Paul George. He let the game come to him and showed off his athleticism and roubounding. He is a great pick up for the Pacers.
4 Not to sound homerish/homeristic (whatever the correct term is) I think Magnum may be the steal of the draft. That is not syaing he is going to be the next Bosh/all-star or even starter for the Pacers but he looks like a very serviceable big man.
5 How much better did McBob look when he played his natural game rather than trying to be Troy Murphy 2.0
6 I know this is summer league and doesn't count for much and is not a significant indicator of their real talent and NBA potential but at least it gives us a glimpse of hope for the future. And that glimpse certainly looks good from where I'm standing

If Magnum Rolle can keep playing inside and get a little stronger he might become what Gibson was for Chi last year. Nice pick guys!

^ I've been thinking about that a lot but Magnum Rolle is a little bit physical and has more range than Gibson. Rolle is a bit quicker too i believe.

Yeah, gotta be incredibly happy with everything so far. Regardless of fit/position/etc, you gotta like that all of these guys, so far, appear to be genuine NBA prospects.
