We should be good in 3 years so their will probably be a longer extension. Maybe 5-10 years after this deal is up?

Yah, hope we could make something significant in three years. Getting back to the playoffs this season should be the start.

Can anyone put insight as to why it was only a 3 year deal?

For some reason, I had assumed such deals would be for longer periods of time.
