I agree with Indy, you don't give up draft picks and assets to acquire players. That is why we gutted it out and resisted packaging our assets a few years ago, when the contracts needed incentive to move. Our patience has already been rewarded once with our fleecing of Darren.

The key is to acquire good young players outright. Why give anything if you don't have to?

Horford is someone we can chase with money, and David West might terminate and we could go for him. Collison has played with him already. Carl Landry will be unrestricted, so we can also throw some cash his way. These are all guys who I think are upgrades from what he have at the 4, but depending on how the season pans out, we may be going for a third guy to solidify a swingman rotation that will include Granger and George getting 30+ minutes each.

There's a 0% chance that you'll get Horford. Just being honest.

I could easily see you guys getting David West though, or a Carl Landry.

I've thought for a while he would be a reasonable target next season. I do believe he'll terminate that declining deal.
