Nice job closing tonight vs. Charlotte

Post#1 » by chube » Sat Oct 30, 2010 2:55 am

They seemed to have a 6-8 point hump they couldn't get over in the second half, but put it together in the last few minutes, starting with the 4-point play by Granger. They did what they've had trouble doing the last few years - close. They finally did it, with Granger on the pine the last, what, minute-plus?

Danny had a monster game scoring, Hibbert was a little quieter offensively but had 13 to go with a solid all-around game with 8 boards, 6 dimes and 4 blocks.

Based off JOB's quote, I take it Hansbrough suddenly found his way in the offensive game? According to Obie, Hansbrough was behind and not contributing enough offensively (yet Solomon Jones was?), but put it together tonight with 12 points plus a presence with hustle and defensive presence.

Nice win, fellas!

Jim O'Brien is in love with his own system. That's why players who show they can grasp it (Posey) get the nod. Basketball is an improvisatory sport, though, especially when the ball is up in the air. Hansbrough looked like he was loving it when all he had to do was sink two freebies to put the pressure on Charlotte to shoot a three.

Granger fouled out with 44.9 seconds left. I know, cuz I remember.

perhaps that offensive stuff was a smoke screen. could have been all about matchups. Charlotte is much smaller than SA.

Philly has looked pretty bad. Maybe an 3-1 start for us. :D

We were playing soft until Hansbrough went into the game. Then he was key at the end with hustle plays. It will be interesting to see if O'Brien can continue to rationalize Tyler outside the rotation moving forward.
