^^^ Not a big fan of Brandan Wright. He's injury-prone, topping out at 39 minutes. And right now, he's only about 5 points/3 rebounds/1 block while playing under 13 minutes a game. Whether or not that's due to performance, injuries, depth at the position, or whatever, I don't know. We can nearly get that out of McBob.

But still, he's had chances pre-David Lee to establish himself as a go-to PF option. I just don't feel he's worth trading for. Signing outright? Maybe, but not giving up something of ours.

The gap between Jeff Teague's value and the value of a package of AJ Price and Dahntay Jones is extremely wide.

I can't imagine Sacramento wanting a package that didn't have at minimum a mid to late 1st round value. AJ Price and Dahntay Jones is nowhere near that.

With Jones and his contract involved, sure. However, I think a deal centering around Price and, say, a 2nd round pick, is fair value for the disappointing Thompson. Price's numbers compare favorably with Teague's and the two are only 16-months apart in age. If Sacramento is looking to move Thompson for a young point guard, Price may be as good as they can get.

just came home from the Atlanta game. I did not see a gap between Price and Teague based on a one game sample.

Really? You want to start there?

Now, Price could turn out to be a long-termer in the NBA, and Teague could flame out. But Teague still has 1st round pick type talent/potential, while Price still has 2nd round type talent/potential.

Until a much larger sample size proves otherwise, that remains.

I understand that the sample was too small. that's why I mentioned it. however, I'm not going to accept that Teague has better talent merely because he was rated higher on draft day. it is true that Pacer management sees Price as a backup and not a potential starter. I think we have hopes that Lance will eventually pass him which is why I was willing to propose trading him even though I like his game.

Oh, absolutely. However, this early in player's career's, you almost have to go with draft spots as opposed to anything else, merely because neither player has played much, if at all, in their respective careers. Are we to judge based on practice reports? The reports of local reporters?

Obviously, after a sufficient sample has elapsed, you can then adjust values. However, one game is nowhere close, and is laughably ridiculous.

Ouch.
First time I ever saw Dwayne Wade Play I knew very well he was a stud. Still have no idea where he was drafted. That's just one example out of hundreds.
Grayer areas may require an extended look but by and large I have a little more faith in my own eyes than the stat boys who compile lists for web sites.
Hasty for sure but not necessarily ridiculous.
