JaVale McGee

Post#1 » by chube » Wed Dec 29, 2010 9:24 pm

It was on the wiretap that the 'Zards are gauging interest in him and Blatche.

Anybody think McGee is worth taking a look at as a backup to Roy? He's had a couple behavioral issues in his young career, but as a byproduct of another player. There was when he got fined $10k for laughing at the Gilbert Arenas finger-gun thing and then last week when he got in a fight with Blatche outside of a nightclub (who is a knucklehead in his own right.)

He's a little inconsistent but has the ability to rack up the rebounds and blocks in short order.

Might be a good player but he seems unstable to me.

I honestly think he'd start at the 4 for us. The tools are there, definitely, but he still seems a bit raw and needs to get stronger. He got invited to the Olympic tryout camp, so he's no slouch.

I personally would love to have a guy like that. I love those athletic, high energy rebounding and blocking big men. We don't need him to be a scorer, Roy, Danny, and DC can handle that.

He looks like a 4 next to Roy Hibbert...

Wiz are pretty high on him. It's one of those "he's worth way more to us than you want to offer" things.

Reading Wiz posts. They say he is very soft and a terrible man to man defender. Could maybe do as a back up at either big spot but likely too costly. Can't be relied upon defensively at this point as a starter.

Pity, I love his stats. He's young, maybe he will improve.
