Hawks fan here and, pardon my ignorance, but I was looking at y'all's roster on ESPN's Trade Checker and saw a problem: they say your salary is $92,319,713. But all I could see was $63,047,034.
What am I missing? ESPN says you're $34,275,713 over the cap, but my figures say $5,003,034 over the cap.
I'm not going to propose a trade, I just like to use the Trade Checker to help me understand what other teams' management is thinking.

Help on maybe a stupid question.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

I assume you're talking about this year's payroll?
Because of a weird buyout or whatever the official terminology was with Jamaal Tinsley. But his contract is still on our books this year. But that's only about $8 million or so if I recall correctly. Don't know where the rest is coming from though.

Thank you. I meant "combined salaries" when I posted "salary." Sorry, I'm watching games while posting.

The 92 mil figure is way off. Even with Tinsley we're hovering around luxury territory.

Re: Help on maybe a stupid question.
I found an article in an Indianapolis newspaper that says $5.5 million is being counted against your cap for Tinsley. That means you'd be around even with the cap.
So, in the offseason, you'll lose Dunleavy's $10,561,984, you'll lose Ford's $8.5 million and Foster's $6,655,000, not counting the smaller expirings. Those 3 put you $25 million plus under the cap. Not bad. You have a young PG, a young C, Granger and enough $$$ for one superstar or 2 really good players.
So, why are you talking about trading Granger?

Sorry for the way that appeared. I'm not a troll. What I mean is, you look pretty good for the future just the way you are. So what's going on with Granger?

Because of his disappointing season thus far, he's not the untouchable superstar that we've been tagging him as. He's still hard to get.

Danny's having a little bit of a tuff go right now. I think he will be back and in fact has not yet peaked.
I think however that he may need a new "system" to thrive.
I'd rather replace the"system" than Danny.
And if we would happen to trade DG... I want a young stud PF plus a pick.
And we'd still need a new "system".

By system, you mean a better, smarter coach. So, really, at this point, anybody who knows the difference between a power forward and a center.

That's an easy one. James Posey plays PF but he's not a Center, amiright?
