Kravitz: Let the kids play

Post#1 » by Grang33r » Thu Jan 13, 2011 5:23 pm

Good article I just read from the Indy Star from Bob Kravitz about the Pacers youth. It's something that i know almost all of us have been saying on this forum for years with JOB and all year this season about how Hansbrough, Rush, George need the playing time, but also they still have to find Price and Stephenson some time too.

Pacers' youth movement is the right way to finish year

Maybe Jim O'Brien had a moment of clarity, a sudden thunderbolt of enlightenment.

Maybe team president Larry Bird, who generally maintains a hands-off approach with his coaches, got in his coach's ear.

But the Indiana Pacers' perpetually embattled coach seems to have gotten the message and, at this point, I don't care how or from whom he got it:

He's playing the young guys.

Finally.

And it's paying off, first with a road victory Tuesday night in Philadelphia and then again Wednesday night in a 102-89 victory over the Dirk Nowitzki-less Dallas Mavericks.

We've been screaming about this for, um, how long?

We'd probley have to trade Ford before Price gets any regular playing time, and as for Stephenson I just feel he has to many guys playing in front of him to be given a good chance.
