I had to post in this thread, just to compliment the title of the thread.

Classic.

Thanks Scoot.
Care to chime in?
Will Nene or West Be eligible and can we get them if we are willing to pay?
Would you go for them, or draft a youngster, or trade for someone else? Stick with Tyler?

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of the threads that have 13 variables (or so).

I have no idea what's going to happen in any given year, let alone with the fear of a new CBA. Will guys stick around because they think they'll get higher salaries? Will guys opt out to be free going into the new CBA and possibly play overseas for a year? I just don't know.

Draft is just BPA. Free agency and trades? Well, it all depends on the financial side and what comes available. This is definitely a hold your cards until the last moment and see where they fall type offseason.

FA class sucks this year... if we can get some 1 or 2 year deals i am fine with that but if not hold tight with our flexibility till we can swing something that will undoubtedly make us a playoff team. just don't see a lot of FA that give that to us yet. mise well just work with what we have and be opportunistic

Most likely we aren't going to go out and grab somebody who uses up all of our space right away. We're trying to stretch this space over 2 years. at least that's what indications have been.

No hurry to spend is always a good policy but we must be ready to pull the trigger if it works for us.
We must make sure we save some loot for Hibb also.
I am not so upset about the free agent class as most of you seem.

We need a good big or two and there are several to be had.
We will have to over-spend on him but that's the price to get an asset with out giving some back.

Clearly you have all read my oft expressed opinion that West or Nene would do us proud.
Nene does dbl duty for us and West and a mle sort of thug at the 5 spot would be even better.
I'd go big for either.
The others are not too inspiring but Zach would do West's role nicely. I'd want a good shrink to listen to him before I spent all that money. Id much prefer to go West + ? Perkins would be great, Or Dele, Okafor, Gortat. Theirs likely a young talent that could play some back up % for us and be groomed to start at the 4 in about 4 years. Ekpe maybe or Ibake, or J Thompson...a Rookie?
