There is way too much of the whole jump into the other player to draw contact deal. The league is turning more and more into a free throw shooting contest. There should not be 40+ foul shots taken by a single team in a typical game. That's boring. I understand the idea of protecting your players from the rugby that went on during the 80's and into the 90's, but running full throttle into another player and throwing up the ball is not basketball and they need to just let those guys embarass themselves and play on.
Totally agree. For me poetic justice on that game's final play. The thing I hated most about Stephen Jackson when he was here was his ongoing game with the officials. Dribble into a crowd, create some contact, not get the call, stare at the official, and slowly jog back up the court while the rest of the team played 4 v 5 defense. That drove me insane. Love it that on the last play he didn't get that call. And, in my opinion the replay clearly showed that he shouldn't have gotten the call.
