I know I said sixth-man spot starter, but if he keeps this up I can't deny him as a full-time bad-ass.

hansbrough has been doing well in March when no one cares anymore. Congrats.

a 26 year old who shoots every time he touches the ball, and can't guard his own shadow.

Thank you for your obviously uneducated opinion.

Hansbrough wont be 26 until around the start of next season anyway. He probably was one of those guys who was always the oldest person in his class.. Finish HS around 19 - Play 4 years at UNC - 1st season in the NBA just turning 24.

Then again he may have waited a year before going to UNC I dont know. Either way he is only ~a year older than he would have been anyway.

People make to much of his age. He has already improved more in his first 2 seasons ( closer to 1 really ) than most young players do in 3-5 seasons.

I dont think he has improved as much as you think. He's doing the same things that he was doing in his time last season, just with more consistent playing time.

Last year Tyler struggled with his mid range jump shot. Since he started getting consistent minutes this year he's been money with that shot. I expect him to improve as a defender and to increase the range on the jump shot. All things that will improve from individual work and "in game" experience. I"ve thought all along he could morph into a combination of David Lee, Paul Milsap and Udonis Haslem. Still think that assessment is pretty accurate and if true that would make him a very solid starting caliber power forward.

I do not see the David Lee. I see Millsap the most, and some of Haslem's scrappiness, but I think Jerry Lucas is actually the most accurate comparison, and in today's era, Millsap would probably be the closest.

Don't see Jerry Lucas. If you want to go back to that era I liked Larry's comparison to Dave Cowens.

I was thinking Lucas because of his undersizedness and his lack of hops, but his tough D and ability to hit the midrange shot. Cowens had a lot of the same qualities, but I always thought of him as more of a C and Lucas is more of a PF. I understand where Larry's coming from, given the time they spent together.

Tyler is a smaller version of Cowens. I'm going more for the doesn't look pretty but always at 110 miles an hour and don't get in their way type

He's not a 3/4 tweener, which almost universally gets you regarded as a 6th man type. He's not a clear starter either. So maybe a bench role player? He'd be a pretty good role player or a pretty "meh" starter. Or an average 6th man.

For some reason lately teams have been allowed to gang up and play very physical defense on Tyler, not just today but over the last 5-6 games.

Boozer is scared.... He knows that if he closes out on Tyler, he will not be able to stop the drive.
