David Kahn won't trade him. If he does he's pretty much fired. It's his only good move as that teams GM. I'd look more at Anthony Randolph, Bird's tried trading for him, Luke Ridnour, JJ Reddick, Martell Webster, possibly a Dwight rental, NOOOOOOOO!, or even *gulp* Michael Beasley.
Larry Bird loves the 08 draft class.

Re: Kevin Pritchard in Orlando scouting Wolves and Magic
I like the idea of Beastley but not the actual player/person Michael Beasley! I can see a minor trade before the end of the season but only a minor one. Reddick would be the target I'd go after mabye for D. Jones and #2.

I wouldn't mind Johnson, Redick or Beasley if we barely have to give anything up for them. No way we'd take Turk and I wouldn't want Richardson's four year contract or whatever it is.

And the more I think about it, it's probably a trade with the Wolves if there is a trade at all. Magic have been playing alright and we aren't going to give them a lot/they aren't going to give away players that would help them win. So it's probably the Wolves since they aren't very good and are looking to sell.

i wouldnt want beasley. He jacks up kobe looking shots(kobe makes them though). We dont need him. Only player id want from them would be Johnson even though he isnt that great.

Don't worry, Indy2. We won't rent Dwight. Bird has acknowledged that the Indiana market won't ever get the "Amare's of the league" (back when Amare was on the market.) He knows better than to go after Dwight. My guess would be Redick.

Re: Kevin Pritchard in Orlando scouting Wolves and Magic
In my opinion, the main thing the Pacers need is a big man to back up Hibbert. If the Pacers are going to deal with Minnesota, it is probably going to be a big man. I would look at Milicic, Pekovic or maybe Randolph.
I know some want to upgrade our PG. At 17-10, bringing in a new PG would not be a wise move. We should stick with Collison unless Stephenson or Hill can beat him out as the starter. If we want to trade Collison in an effort to upgrade at PG, we should do that in the off season.
Bird liked Reddick in the off season. If the Pacers are looking at Orlando, I wouldn't be surprised if Reddick was who they were looking at.

Magic person here, do you think Indiana would move Granger for some Magic players? Granger hasnt shot the ball to well and paul george could be alot better starting and could flourish with more playing time.

Re: Kevin Pritchard in Orlando scouting Wolves and Magic
Besides Dwight, Orlando has nothing I would want for Granger. No draft picks, no potentially equally effective prospects, nothing.
When Dwight leaves it will literally get ugly down there.
You talk him into extending with us, then I'd give you Granger + a whole lot more.
Either way, I hope the Magic don't get screwed like they did with Shaq, get something while you can.

Re: Kevin Pritchard in Orlando scouting Wolves and Magic
I like Ryan Anderson but I doubt they are looking at moving him and I wouldn't want to give Danny Straight up
I think the Magic need to move Dwight to a team that can give then 2 or 3 young prospects and a couple picks. But I think they'll end up trading him to the Lakers in a deal like this, Howard, Turk and Duhon for Bynum, Gasol and 2 #1 picks. Lakers eat the bad contracts of Duhon and Turk.
Orlando flips Gasol to a 3rd team to get more youth and goes into total rebuild mode.

Re: Kevin Pritchard in Orlando scouting Wolves and Magic
The only guy that interests me is Derrick Williams.
Realistically, I'd say Bird has an interest in Randolph (didn't he want this guy a year or so ago?), and Reddick and Earl Clark.
One thing for sure is that the Wolves are over loaded with forwards and need a shooting guard. Not sure how we can help out with that.

Re: Kevin Pritchard in Orlando scouting Wolves and Magic
Realistically, the Pacers have massive cap space, and ANY deal that Orlando does this year will probably require dumping cap on somebody. I'm sure that Pritchard (and Bird) are simply doing their due diligence and ascertaining what they would be willing to take on if we were a 3rd party, and as such, what our costs would be to participate. I highly doubt anything likely is happening other than our due diligence.

Other than maybe Jason Richardson, not a lot of interest there.

Re: Kevin Pritchard in Orlando scouting Wolves and Magic
I come in peace.
You are getting the MUCH better end of the deal here, but at least on paper it helps us, too.
Granger for JJ + Ryno + QRich
a more realistic trade would be you you sending out Collison and we replacing Q with Duhon and adding some cash and a pick.
what say you?

"Aaron Gordon will cost Henny's job by Dec 2016." Predicted Dec 2014.
"O'Quinn will have a longer and more successful NBA career than Nicholson." Predicted Jun 2012. Verified on Dec 2014.

LOL, that's terrible. We don't want "Ryno". We had a scrub like him here a few years ago. 3rd worst player ever. Only behind Mike Dunleavy and Darren Collison. Getting the better end of the deal?

I'm sorry, but that is an awful offer for Granger value. Ryan Anderson has had a GREAT year next to Dwight Howard. However, we already have David West and Tyler Hansbrough. Granger and Paul George provide our outside shooting. We simply have no need for Ryan Anderson, and he would be limited to something around 15 minutes or less a night due to a VERY cluttered lineup there. Q Richardson is an ineffective player anymore, yet has 2 more years fully guaranteed on his deal. JJ Redick is a solid rotational piece off the bench, and would be interesting. However, he's just not worth a ton of value.
Long story short, Ryan Anderson + JJ Redick does not equal Danny Granger. Adding in Q Rich only makes it worse. Adding in a Darren Collison (as reviled as he can be here) for Chris Duhon (another bad contract for 2 additional years) swap only continues to make it worse.
This is a non-starter.
