The Wallace trade doesn't help them keep Deron. Wallace being traded means he can opt out just like Deron, and probably will.
He may very well, but you're going to have a better chance of keeping Williams if you make moves that get you veterans that can play.
And it's easier to re-sign a solid vet teammate as incentive to Deron than it is to goad Deron with pie in the sky dreams of signing solid vets. Easier to re-sign a guy than go out there and sign him.
