He's 31. Meanwhile, New Orleans look like they're going to match anything thrown at Gordon, so we should look other places.

We see it different ways. Instead, it would be 1 year guaranteed now, and most likely 2-3 years guaranteed in a new contract next summer, or it would be 2 years guaranteed now, and then entering free agency.

Essentially, does he think he can secure a long-term deal next summer, or the year after? I would assume he'd rather hit free agency again while he's younger, and could likely secure a 2-3 year deal at high money than to stay one more year here, and enter free agency a year older, and a year further down the line.

There's an arguement for either strategy from West's perspective. I certainly couldn't blame him for playing out his contract for 2012/2013 and hitting free agency while at a younger age. But, he might have to settle for less money to land with a good team or a team with a shot at a title. I could see somenone giving him three years next summer but at 10 mil per year?

We have a greater chance of getting him to restructure or stay if we make the right personnel moves between now and then.

But he could also be part of those personnel moves.

Seeing on Wiretap the Pacers being linked to interest in Eric Gordon again. Have to think that means something sending out Granger with Gordon coming back with a third team involved. A lottery team who values Granger highly would be needed. Don't know if such a team exists and wonder if the Pacers are really entertaining something along these lines.

Say we give him an extra year at $10 million, and then he goes to free agency and can only secure a 2 year deal at $5 million per as he'd be a year older, and maybe with an extra year of injuries. That would make him $20 million.

Or, say he goes to free agency without the one year extension, and can sign a 3 year/$8 million deal a year. He would make $24 million over that time frame.

He won't need to make $10 million a year to come out ahead. He'll just need to get a higher average salary over the course of 3-4 years.

we're at 37 and 22 which is .627. on an 82 game schedule that percentage would be 51 wins. lets hope David West and George Hill like being a part of a 50 win team and stick around for the championship run that could be coming soon.

He is back to action and with him the Hornets have a 5-2 record.

He is doing what he has to do: remind everyone he can do things most others can't do in any of 82 games.
