Re: Disappointing Paul George?
PG is not disappointing. He is exactly where we need him to be. I know the author wants him to play like he's in his prime, but hell we're still 5 years away from that. Frankly, Frank doesn't ask too much of him, his main task is to play suffocating defense. Check.

Yes he has been disappointing. His passing is TERRIBLE. He didn't do much, but he's only 2nd year.

Re: Disappointing Paul George?
I can be disappointing but Paul's just too young to egg him to play like a star. He's still in the learning curve and he's in the right track.

Re: Disappointing Paul George?
I'm not sure what people were expecting. I expected a little more offensively, but it's only year 2 for him. He was also going up against the likes of LeBron and Wade, and they'll make a lot of players look bad.
He for sure needs to tighten up his handles and passing though, they're below average for a shooting guard.

Re: Disappointing Paul George?
If the Pacers traded George for Gordon.
Hill
Gordon
Granger
West/Hansbrough
Hibbert
I'd say that can match wits and ball skills against the likes of Chicago and with time Miami, very much keepable for 6-7 years.
If we were starting over and rebuilding again, I woiuld never bring up the idea of George being traded, but we are a playoff team now and we need to get back to the tradition of that that Reggie helped begin 20 years earlier.
Hate to say, but when Larry Bird came here as a coach, the first thing he did was force the trade of a promising young player (Dampier) for veteran wing help (Mullin). Same thing needs to happen here with George.

I'd want a refund on my half season tickets for next year.

Guess that makes you a bandwagoner and not a fan.
To me it don't matter who dons the uniform, I stand and I support them even if the record is 82-0 or 0-82. Grant it I hadn't been to a game in a few years but I'm here now and I hope to be able to do so next season.
But one player will not change or make a difference with me. Honestly if it does with you and they leave you leave along with them. Bandwagoners come and go with the players not the team.
Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind fans of players, but I wouldn't be me if I wasn't honest with my comment above.

Re: Disappointing Paul George?
If the Pacers traded George for Gordon, they would be good...for about 40 games, then Gordon would be injured and our season would be over.
Keep George, he is going to get better. Remember, not only is he in his 2nd year, he left school early. He will improve greatly if he simply does a better job of not turning the ball over.

Then why add Gordon?
Is it more of an effort to add a fanbase? A dispise for Granger? What is it?
If Stephenson can step forward this offseason and become an offensive force, a George, Granger, Stephenson wing rotation will be quite hard to stop outside of a stronger wing offense.

bandwagoner? I listened to the very first Pacer game on the radio. I attended games at the Fairgrounds and even drove to Bloomington for ABA playoff games. I have had tickets for more years than most of you have been alive. if that's jumping on a bandwagon, oh well. I'd still be very upset if we were so short sighted as to trade Paul George at his young age.

Wizop's earned his stripes a million times over.
I still think Gordon over George would not give us 6-7 years of good whatever. Gordon is a hometown kid, which is great, but George has so much ridiculous upside.
I think most people are off the Gordon bandwagon at this point.

We can't afford to have a highly paid player sitting in street clothes half the season being a small market team. I like Gordon, but he hasn't proved he can stay healthy. We've been there, done that with Jermaine O'Neal.

I saw your avatar live PR07.
Maybe he didn't see the kids because they were knee high, or he was probably being a little too serious.

Re: Disappointing Paul George?
John Hollinger answered a question on Paul George in his chat today:
Aaron (Indy)
Professor, what is your take on the opinion that the Pacers should think about trading Paul George while people are still high on him? He did not have a great playoffs and he isn't playing his natural position with the Pacers.
John Hollinger (12:40 PM)
Do NOT do this. Big wings who can score are very difficult to find, and have very long and productive careers. If anything, trade Granger and get a more natural 2 who can handle a bit more and unglue the offense a bit.

That's great to hear Wizop!
The excitment of my old man's edge of the seat attention to the old stand up radio sticks in my mind.
Being "out with the guys" - on the benches, between my dad, and my favorite uncle - are cherished memories.
Billy Keller's big 3's in the old barn were fantastic!
BTW i'm with you on holding on to PG too.
I'm still sort of fond of a DG for AI swap tho (as soon as PG is strong enough to manage the 3 spot full time).
