Pacers supposedly called about interest, along with Bulls and Knicks.

I like Greene; He's an near 7 ft athletic stretch sf/pf. Combined with the other athletic guys off the bench he would be nice for smaller faster lineups. He would give the Pacers another guy off the bench that is capable of going for 20+ on any given night. And he would give the team a legitimate guy to take Pender's role and challenge Hansborough for the backup 4 spot. At the very least; I like him for 8-10 minutes a game. Maybe more if foul trouble is an issue.

Realistically, I think a combo SF/PF is about the only roster spot available in this lineup. That's a hole that could be filled. Donte Greene is expiring and appears to have been passed over in Sacramento. Not sure he'd be amazing, but he's still a bit of a question mark. Think JJ Hickson or Ike Diogu kind of grab bag of a prospect.

I agree very talented but raw. I think with Indy he'd be good because of the amount of talent he would have the luxury of playing with. Augustin & Stephenson both being good passers and slashers would or should get him open along with everyone else. That fast lineup would be exciting to watch.

Small/Fast Lineup
Augustin
Stephenson
Green/George
Greene/George
Mahinmi/Plumlee

Would you offer him 1-year guaranteed for $2mil for the year?

Only thing the Pacers have to offer is either the league minimum or the 2.575 cap space exception.

$2 million? Probably not. Greene hasn't done much in the NBA to show that he deserves to be paid that high.

Unfortunately, he's probably looking at a vet minimum kind of deal to make good. However, if he can go to a contender and play well off the bench, while proving a positive work ethic, he can hit free agency next year and pull a Gerald Green kind of contract.

If I'm this guy's agent there's no way I take him to Indiana. The forward position is just too croweded. At power forward we've got West, Hansbrough, maybe Plumlee and Granger
Small forward, Granger, Green, George

More nights than not he probably doesn't even dress.

I'd like Greene. He didn't get tons of opportunities in Sac-Town, but what little I saw of him, I liked him - quick, long, and can stretch the floor. The Pacers don't have a guy especially like him. West is a little like that, but is more of a banger in the post.

I've heard that we're looking both at Tolliver and Greene. Neither would get tons of run, but could be useful against more small-ball teams like Miami, Philly, OKC when Perkins is on the bench, etc.
