I think they're ready

Post#1 » by Grang33r » Wed Oct 23, 2013 4:03 am

Second straight game the team wins in a blow out. They were down early, by something like 11 points in the 1Q to the Atlanta Hawks and still managed to win 107-89 on the road. The starters came out flat, and it was our bench that came in the 2Q and exploded. Scola scored 20, Watson added 11 to a bench that scored 50 points tonight.

I have been hearing some people getting worried after the slow start on social media and what not. I wasn't worried. Knew it would take time, and i still think they need some time to really gel together, we do afterall have a brand new bench. But, now that we've played 7 games and are almost done with training camp, it seems as if these guys are ready for regular season basketball.

For anyone wonder, if there even is a battle for the 15th spot (i read Pacers will have 14 guys on the roster), both Armstrong and Butler ended up with a donut tonight on the scoresheet.

What you guys think?

Speaking of regular season basketball, i hate to gloat, but i ordered NBA League Pass this year. Can. Not. Wait.

Sorry, i meant they have 15, and they are going with 13. Here is a blurb from the Indy Star on Armstrong and Butler, tho notice she says Dallas, we actually played Atlanta, but who's keeping track lol

When the Pacers play their seventh preseason game Tuesday night in Dallas, the roster will have 15 players. A week later, only 13 will remain for the regular-season opener against Orlando. For center Hilton Armstrong and small forward Rasual Butler, the end is nigh. “Just practice every day, that’s pretty much it,” Butler said. “That’s all you can do. Come in and work hard every day. That’s it.” ... NBA teams can have up to 15 players on their roster, but the Pacers will start the season with 13, coach Frank Vogel said. Already, the Pacers have released power forward Darnell Jackson and guard Ron Howard. They received “the talk” from Vogel and General Manager Kevin Pritchard. “It stinks,” Vogel said about releasing players. “People ask all the time what’s the hardest part of the job. That’s certainly right up there in the top two or three.”

certainly a much better performance. I am definitely pleased to see the bench scoring heavy.

I think were getting in to season form for sure! We were just a little rusty at first but looks like were getting back to where we were.

I don't think we are ready for what's about to happen this season, it's going to be BIG!

Chicago looks mid-season form already! Watch out for Taj Gibson, 6th man of the year candidate for sure!

I'll just ignore the above post...

Just watching the game on ilp now, the key was impressive play by Scola and West on the 4 spot but... they were playing against a guy called Antic who... looked out of his depth, he looks like Sacre of the Lakers, that is the only positive thing I could come up with.

But in general I was pleased, some nice play all round from the bench.
