So much nonsense in this thread.

Granger will not be traded. Pacers can not take back ANY salary PERIOD. After the season Granger is off the books. Most of that money is already spent on Paul's new contact that starts next season.

Granger will either be gone or resign cheap simply because wants to stay. If he plays any good at all some team will offer him good money and the Pacers will not be able to match.

They will make Lance their priority to resign and it will be tuff to make that happen. Some team could offer him crazy money.

As for someone in this thread saying D West might retire. Are you freaking kiddin the dude is playing as well as he EVER Has. Why would he retire, just plain silly.

I've been hearing a lot about trading G Hill and granger for a better PG. I understand the logic behind it and I understand the need for having a great PG. The problem I see is that the PG is such a critical position on the team that changing that up right now (while we are so successfull) might be ill-advised. G Hill is actuallly a pretty damn good defender and I'm afraid to think about trading him.

I wonder if Nate Robinson would have fit in very well?

I think all that talk is from outsiders who really don't understand our team dynamics. Bird picked Hill and I've seen nothing that indicates he's unhappy with the team he has built.

It would be dumb breaking up this team. If they start going bad then yes I could see a trade but right now the only piece that we should consider is Granger.

I have suggested it as an option. I like Hill, he is solid, but I was a concerned that we were lacking offensive creativity at the moment at the expense of solid D.

But, the way the team has been performing there is no reason to do any trade whatsoever though. I always like to have potential scenarios at the ready though, you never know.
Vogel is Dutch for Bird.

Why is it that you guys are not willing to take back any contracts beyond this season?

because we need to sign Lance Stephenson next year and stay under the luxury tax. adding any salary to next year reduces what we can pay Lance dollar per dollar.

we won't go over the luxury tax line and we want to re-sign Lance Stephenson. In order to do both, we need every bit of Danny Grangers expiring contract. Adding any other salaries mean we would have to let Lance walk for nothing in trade, and maybe even waive Scola for the non-guaranteed savings of $2m, both of which would greatly weaken our team.

Wonder if Granger would join the Clippers as a free agent if we moved Dudley.
