Hawks fan here. Don't know why you guys keep trying to go outside when it seems like feeding David West would solve a lot of your issues.
First off, David West has a pretty good matchup against Paul Millsap. While Millsap's underrated as a defender, his strength is really as a team defender. His post defense is nothing special IMO. West should be able to take him inside for some decent looks.
Second, it takes the ball out of Stephenson's hands. Lance looks like he's trying to do too much out there. West is more poised.
Third, it slows down the pace, which should be what Indy wants. We rely on 3s because we're undersized, but you guys have quality bigs. You should be slowing down the pace as much as possible. This might also turn around Hibbert's game.
Fourth, West has more leadership than anyone else on your team, but you need to give your leader a on-court platform to lead from.
Honestly I think running your offense through West solves like 95% of your problems, so it's kind of surprising to me that Vogel hasn't done it yet. I figure you guys would have a better take on it. Thoughts?

Agreed, although you can't do everything through West (we tried that last night), I know popular opinion is against me, but we under use Hibbert in the post to an almost criminal degree.

Re: You guys should feed David West more
Hibbert should probably be used more on offense, but if the Hawks get hot from deep, what is Vogel supposed to do? I've read a lot of critiscism on Vogel, but the truth is the Hawks match well against the Pacers and when they get hot Hibbert becomes a big liability in defense.
If Vogel decides to bench Hibbert in order to shore up his perimeter defense, then it's up to Coach Bud to command Teague and Millsap to punish Indy in the paint. Teague has been very timid as of late, but I would think he should be good attacking the paint while Hibbert's out. We'll see.
I also think David West can be the key.

No doubt the Hawks match up really well against us, but Q2 game 5 was without Hibbert on the floor and our perimeter D still looked rubbish. Our problem that Q was (in my opinion) more to do with us not being able to punish on the other side. Teams get ridiculously hot from time to time, the best way to fight it is by slowing the game down on the offensive end and making sure you convert there. If Vogel had put Hibbert on the floor and played offense through him it would have slowed the game down immensely.
Vogel also should have yanked the second unit off straight away and gone to the starters as soon as it was obvious that Scott and Mack were beginning to roast the second unit all over the floor.

Seems like unfortunately Vogel was thinking the same thing....
